What's Your Opinion on Cosplay?

I really like the effort people put into outfits. I've always wanted to attend an anime con and cosplay, but the lack of funds have always stood in my way.

Hopefully someday I'll be able to. Three characters I'd love to cosplay as is Yami Bakura, Soul Evans and L.

Soul Evans...Now THAT'D be a badass cosplay.

i wouldnt do it myself, but i love to see people do it and take pictures of them and such things
but i dont understand why people prefer halloween costumes than wesker costumes and such,
these days i would never put on a halloween costume (as a kid i use to dress up as the killer from scream though)
so yeah i would rather be chris or wesker than some halloween character
but yeah it can be fun on halloween seing good costumes like freddy krueger i guess, not that i ever see any here

yeah its pretty wierd opinion by some people,
some people seem to think that just by putting on chris redfield clothes they automatically think they are chris
but i dont think thats the case, people just dress up to look like chris for fun like masqurade or something
i was on a nintendo 3ds release event and people cosplayed a lot there, it was fun to talk to the cosplayers
a bunch of marios was there and one girl even dressed up like one of the resident evil 5 monsters
pretty wierd costume but still cool, she was nice to let me take a picture of myself with her,
i had a resident evil 5 t shirt on and a copy of resident evil 5 gold edition that i bought the same day
barry burton cosplaying would be cool, that guy has so many awesome qoutes to joke around with

Not to mention a lot of cosplaying is really impressive. The amount of time and talent people put into it is incredible. I always like looking at pictures from conventions just for that.

I respect cosplayers because of their attention to detail. I'm throwing together a costume for Halloween, and googled for a few items that I needed, and ended up coming across a 37 page thread for one costume. I just couldn't believe it! Here I thought that a brown pair of boots would just be, ya know, a brown pair of boots. Boy, was I wrong

I think it's awesome seeing people dress up from a videogame you love but sometimes it can go overboard or they don't end up looking like the characters at all... I still have nightmares for seeing that chick dress up as Tribal Sheva on google.

Up until I started making films I liked the idea of cosplaying and was a fan of the various costumes I saw online and stuff. After I started making films though, I got way more into it. When I'm on location for a shoot (usually my main job by then is directing, but I've written myself a part in my next zombie feature), especially when I'm in costume, in character... I don't know, it's hard to explain. You hear actors talk about how having the wardrobe and props really helps them get into character and whatnot, and it's totally true for me. Example: I'm generally known for hating to have my picture taken or anything. If I have a costume on though, I can easily jump into the mindset of that character and no longer mind the presence of a camera. If I ever went pro I'd probably be one of those actresses who played the big bold parts in action movies and stuff, only to be a huge mystery outside of filming because I'd go back to being my quiet self. I can't wait to act and direct in my next feature but it kind of scares me at the same time lol.

As far as cosplaying goes, I've put together some cheap Rain cosplays but I've never been satisfied with them. Now that I've got a job I've been looking around for stuff to make a better one, and have recently made a prop knife for the costume (though I based it off of the knives in the game, not the movies). My husband is going to cosplay as Alex Wesker while I cosplay as Rain to go along with a fanfiction he's written... should be fun . For me it's all about being in character. It's an unreal feeling.

I like looking at Cosplay pictures.
Although a lot of people who I see comment need to realise that it's not how good a likeness is towards the character, or necessarily the effort (although a good effort is really enjoyable) it's that a person showing passion for something they love and sharing it.
That and an excuse to show porn with no consequence most of the time aswell...

I personally love it! When done right, it looks amaxing! I admit im not the best at it (and havent done it in a long time) but once my son is older I plan on getting back into it. Ive cosplayed a few different characters, the ones ive done were a pain in the bum to make! But were worth it in the end when I was able to walk around and people would recognize it!

I enjoy Cosplay for the most part. I've even done it myself. But sometimes it can go horribly, HORRIBLY wrong. I am of course talking about Male to Female crossplay. It's seldom EVER done right.

Cosplayers are great, what's not to love? Some of the costumes are outstanding works of art, some of the folks inside the costumes are outstanding works of art!

It's a hobby, no different from playing sports or videogames or jumping out of airplanes. The only problem I have with it is when a stunning Ada or Eileen Galvin cosplayer strolls past, accompanied by their partner. Having a partner is simply not on in these circumstances
