Resident Evil 4 Alternate Path to Church

After getting the round insignia thing that goes into the church door, instead of going forward, turn around. If you go back across the lake and walk a little bit a cutscene begins where 3 or 4 infected dogs jump down. This is supposed to be the 1st encounter with them, although most players meet them at the church.

But I take both routes because I want to kill every foe.

I always use the shortcut, much easier. Though if I want to see that cutscene though(and I usually do), I go back to take a look, but then return to the waterfall. I really hate it when going through that broken bridge/swamp area everytime, dunno why actually.
