A spammy situation...

First of all, my thanks again to all of you guys for helping us out when it comes to the spam and not flooding the report section like La Femme has asked. Honest to goodness, it makes life a little bit easier ;)

Now onto business - the latest spam-attack seems centred around Canadian geese, Ugg boots and foreign pornography. May I please encourage you to not click any of these links - ESPECIALLY the porn ones - as this will cause no end of trouble for everyone and, to be honest, if you're into your porn then get it from your usual outlets rather than via this site.

Having checked the spam-cleaner function, it would appear that there is no option to auto-ban IP addresses and emails so, naturally, this is taking a long time to sort out. I am going to ask Steve if he knows of any way of creating those options so that all the staff can just click one button and be done with it rather than having to go through the control panel and manually edit each and every spammer. I don't know if this is possible and if not, then it's back to the drawing board for the time being.

But once again, please do not click on any links or even open threads - for the sake of your eyes and future therapy bills, don't try google-translating anything either. Like, seriously.

Normal service is really wanting to resume as soon as possible but in the mean time, thank you all again for your patience and for continuing to post despite the absolute nuisance that is spam.

Update: Steve has installed about three bajillion things to stop the spammers getting through so easily. Turns out all Xenforo sites (including their own official one) have been bombarded with spam so they've created a load of mods to try and combat it. They're actually kind of cool things like creating puzzles and rearranging shapes into order. Plus if anyone registers within 15 seconds, they are immediately rejected because it indicates a bot reading code at computer-speed and not a human. So speed readers, watch out ;)

Obviously we'll always have spammers but thanks to everyone again for helping La Femme and Romero do their job so superbly :)
