Zeno - A Deconstruction of Villainy

I think Zeno was cool, man. And if it wasn't addressed that he isn't the real deal people would hate that too. I like the silhouette of where Wesker was to the villains behind the scenes

Personally, I think Zeno was just someone’s attempt at recreating the Wesker Project. I don’t think he was a clone or anything, I just think that the potential candidates for the project as they aligned with Spencer's vision tended toward similar features, which also matches with traditional White Supremacist desired features. The sunglasses thing can at least be explained on the enhancements, as the super speed would require far greater vision than that of normal humans, but it creates a higher sensitivity to light, which is why Wesker continued to wear them aside from already being his thing. Zeno’s similarities to Wesker are probably just the fact that they have similar origin, but Zeno didn’t have the same evil genius qualities, hence Gideon’s imitation comment.

With the entire premise of RE9 being about clones, it really makes a ton of sense that Zeno is Wesker's clone.

Just because Zeno wasn't as maniacal as Wesker was doesn't discount that. Plus, RE4RE Wesker voice actor voiced Zeno. Just as Hunks' voice actor voiced him as well.

It’s too on-the-nose. Sure, Wesker could have given them his DNA when he worked with them in the past, but would he? Was that something the Wesker we know would do? How would they if he didn’t give them the samples voluntarily, as he was enhanced by the time he was working with them. Doesn’t add up very well. I think Zeno is something similar to Wesker, but I don’t think he’s a straight clone, and it and until Capcom gives clarification, I’ll assume he’s not, just an attempted reproduction of the same experiment.

With the serum Wesker needed (PG67A/W) to keep the virus in check, I am sure they needed his DNA to ensure it worked. It was Wesker's superior genetics that bonded with the progenitor virus that made him super human. They'd have to clone him to be able to get another just like him. That was Zeno.
