Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) Who's in for a "wiki" RE3 Remake?

Hi everybody! I'm Netrebko, I'm a huge Resident Evil 3 fan since I first played it... And like I think almost everybody, feel a bit disappointed about the huge lost of essence all the new games have had. Now I'm an adult and have a job and everything haha, so I really don't have much time for playing videogames, yet in my free time, I sometimes like this game specially because of its nostalgic value.

I'm an architect now, and after the years passed, well, I still like it, and it's sad that even the characters have lost their essence as well... I think that the major reason, for example with RE3, is that its ambience, aesthetics and atmosphere is precisely set in the end of the 90's decade, so the music, Jill Valentine itself, the city, the ambience are all very characteristic representations of that time, (somehow reminds me about the aesthetics of X-Files series... Jill looks like Scully somehow...) and that's something that I think Capcom reaally has lost the track about... The game itself is like a "symbol" of the 90's, and they've started to redeploy everything but with a "present" essence, but that's precisely what ruined completely the atmosphere it had, because they transformed the characters, their behaviors, the essence of the game, and everything....

So well, my point is, I'm open and searching to make a collaborative project on internet to make an "freeware/wiki/etc." remake of the game, I now know how to model buildings, and stuff like that, so I could help with modeling the city areas, (and rethinking them too, because it's not just modeling) and perhaps trying to solidify the aesthetics of the game, I dunno... hahah...

I would like to share this along anyone who'd like to participate, but mostly with people who know how to use programs like Unity, programming, modeling and animation software, and people who reaaaallly know about music and ambience (because it's vital to recover the musical essence of that time as well), and anyone who would like to participate.

I don't know where to start, or where to share this idea, but well, here I am. :)

One of the first things I did for trying was this model of Jill's face using FaceGen, based on the Capcom 3d model that was based on Catherine Disher and the actress from the first Resident Evil... I personally like it more because I think her looks resemble much more the original Jill before she was made blonde and all that crap hahaha.

It's actually a 3d model image, with the hair pasted on photoshop (because I don't know how to model hair hahaha, she is actually bald right now...) I don't think it's perfect, though, I specialize on architecture, so there must be people with much better abilties to model characters than mine.

Hope there's someone who'd like to enter on this, and if you know where could I share this idea, or if you know someone who'd like to, it would be great!

Cheers. ;)

Also photography and cinematographic specialists, because that's the deal with the fixed camera angles, you perceive everything as in a movie.

Yet, the key to be able to make it in an open matter is to keep it simple; all the new games have very complicated features, (e.g. the abilities to roll over, etc. in RE6), but perhaps it could be also a great feature to make it more realistic (Jill's a STARS member, yet she's still young and a common human being... in RE3, the most valuable trait of her personality was her courage and persistance, not action-genre stuff. That's what made her so cool in the first place, I believe.

This is a great idea! I don't really have the nessesary skills to do anything that would be needed but as a fellow fan of RE3 I believe this should be done. I could however help with the advertising and promotional aspect. I am very skilled in video production and I could work with an animator to make a (excuse my language) kick-ass commercial. Keep me posted on thoughts and progress :) .

I was actually talking to my brother the other day about how Resident Evil 3 needs to be remade, I would heavily be looking into actually doing something but I've got stupid work experience til the end of next week. I can't wait until that ends so I'll have plenty of free time to look at some engines and see what I can do.
