What's everybody playing?

I haven't played a lot of games lately but the most recent one was RE2R—to finish an old Claire-B save I wanted to get back to—I have a VR mod save that I'd like to finish too and I wanna try the DLC sometime

Resident Evil 1 (REMAKE) 2002

About to reach the last part of the game, the laboratory. Yawn boss was easily defeated with the acid rounds. First time playing on Hard & One Dangerous Zombie mode. I died alot to get to where I'm at.

I've been revisiting Metro Exodus to check out the new Enhanced Edition upgrade. Rather disappointed that it didn't get real HDR like the console versions, which makes it look washed out. You can make it better by tweaking settings but even on the best displays it will still render it a bit too dark.

That said, I'm enjoying the game anyway, and just started a Ranger Hardcore run to for the first time try for the good ending where the protagonist you play, Artyom, doesn't die. Supposedly you can still kill Bandits and Mutants without the morality points stacking too high against you to achieve this.

I started a play through of Doom The Dark Ages last night. I had put off getting this one for some time, as I wasn't sure I'd like it. The graphics and gameplay are pretty good, but graphics settings on PC can be a bit confusing. I stayed up late last night and am well into the game. What's strange is the performance is better now then when I started playing it. It's one of those few games where I have to turn HDR on in Windows, but off in the game, so I'm not entirely sure it's real HDR.

The game is pretty good, but the combat in Doom Eternal is a bit better IMO. This one has a weird combination of having slower enemy attacks (save for Imps), but looks far more arcade than Eternal due to a lot of enemies firing bright colored slow moving orbs. You just have to identify where the green ones are and deflect those back at them. Different enemies use different shapes of energy attacks, but they're basically all green or red, and you can only ever parry the green ones.

However it does have some pretty good segments where you pilot a cyber dragon, and a 30 story Atlan (Doom Guy Titan). While it's true that this game is much slower paced than the previous reboot titles, you're still facing quite a lot of enemies, so it's still important to keep moving to avoid attacks, use the new parry system where you can, and melee fodder to buff ammo. In this game though, the big health buffs come from glory kills after parrying, and to a lesser degree when killing fodder.

Salute. Any tips/tricks for breezing through the underground lab part? I got blown up a few times on Normal a while back.

You just have to keep trying.. lots of trial and error. Well.. here is what I did:

On the Lisa fight, push all rock statue things to the ground.. you will save alot of resources. When you get to the underground lab.. use the grenade rounds on those creatures that come out in the power room. First tyrant fight use flame rounds then on second fight use the magnum. Also forgot to mention... clear everything first before you fill that can with nitro.

Okay, other people playing RE1R here made me wanna play it, I made it to the residence and everything was fine, but nobody told me about LA ARAÑA
(I don't care that it's called a "web spinner" in the wiki, it doesn't even spin webs and LA ARAÑA is scarier)

--it won't let me send the image but maybe that's for the best--

Bump.

DOOM (1993)

Grindfest DLC (DOOM II Mega Slaughter Wad)

Level05 UV. Level took around 3 hours to finish (Save scumming)

Just finished my playthrough of Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition on Ranger Hardcore with the good ending. The Enhanced Edition on PC has better graphics, but the HDR is half baked. I had to use the -deependark launch command or it looked too washed out. Even then I still had to readjust the gamma on the final chapter.

I am currently playing Doom The Dark Ages on Nightmare. This started out looking much easier then Eternal, but now I regret playing through the first 3rd of it hastily. I wasn't focusing on completing chapter challenges, so I lost a lot of gold, rubies, etc for upgrades. Siege Part I it cheated me though, not counting all the gold I collected, giving me 98% instead of the100% it should have been. I'm on the Forsaken Plains chapter now trying to get through a very tough gore nest battle.

RE 2 the Remake. I use enjoy playing the original RE 2 back in the day. I kinda liked the tacky graphics, they were so cutting edge for its time. Too easy now, though. I like the remake it's more of a challenge.
