What is up with these bots?

All jokes aside, I really hate those posts, can we get the moderating system or whatever to automatically get rid of posts like those? Every time I look into the recent threads list and see another bot, I die inside.

I think there is a system that deletes those posts, but some of them still manage to get through.

The amount of spam is unusual, and I'm here more often now to take care of it. Thanks to everyone who reports it (mainly Hel and Jen, but others too).
If you think the amount of spam is large, you only see the top of the iceberg. 90-95% of the spam is automatically filtered so you don't see it. It gets in the mod queue where Femme and I take care of it. They are being banned and their IPs are reported to an anti spam agency.

Thank you for the reports, it makes it much easier for us. If the amount of spam gets so large that the reports becomes a burden we will let you know. That happened in the past one or two times; if we get for example 50 spam threads in one day that gets past the filter, then reporting them all becomes redundant.

Ah, I used to report them too but I always assume they'll be dealt with soon. Should I start reporting them again, then?

I forgot there was a report feature, whoops.

I wouldn't use the word should, that makes it sound like a duty. But please do report spam when you see it, it is very much appreciated.

If you see several spam threads/posts from the same spammer, you don't need to report all of them. When we ban an account, our options are by default set to delete everything. From their profile page, or from any post they made (all posts/comments has a "spam" button under it) it takes one click to open the Cleaner, and just one additional click to erase every visible trace made by that account.

This was one of today's many spammers. Two clicks and *poof* gone. :)
