Will it be in resident evil 6 ? I'm so confused as why there is 3 virus's and I don't know where they fit in the canon story . Someone please help !

Chief Researcher
  • Progenitor virus - Extracted from an african plant species, it was used by a tribe to select their king. It killed almost any infectant, but the rare survivors gained superior physical traits. Becausee of it's potential for BOW production, Umbrella was founded in order to develop this virus.
  • t-virus - After using leech DNA to enhance the progenitor virus, James Marcus named the resulting strain as the t-virus (after Tyrant). After this first version of the virus, it was further developed by William Birkin by using the ebola virus in some way. Many BOW's were created using the endless strains of t-virus available (Zombie, Cerberus, Licker, Hunter, Tyrant, etc).
  • Nemesis parasite - this parasite was being used by Umbrella's Paris labs to create intelligent BOW's. It was used in Hunters and in Tyrants (one of which was sent to Raccoon City to kill the remaining STARS members), for example.
  • G-virus - Lisa Trevor was the first test subject for the progenitor virus. Having survived the infection, she was kept in the Arklay Research Facility and used to test countless viral strains. When a sample of the Nemesis parasite arrived to the American branch of Umbrella, it was tested on her. Her body overpowered the parasite, and in her veins runned a new virus. William Birkin started to study this new virus at the Undergroung Research Facility, naming it as the G-virus (possibly for "God", as the vaccine is named Devil, or "Gene"). The G-virus' effects on the human body were, in many ways, similar to the Nemesis parasite. It created a new line of cells from within the original body. The G organism has the need to procriate, implanting embyos in other humans. If the human is not compatible with the original G host, then it will reject the new host and grow very fast and in a disformed way, and the organism wouldn't be able to reproduce, although it could create embryos. It is not know what would happen if a compatible human were implanted with an embryo. William Birkin was, ironically, one of the rare test subjects for this virus.
  • t+G-virus - In order to attenuate the effects of the G-virus, so that it would be possible to use it for BOW development, t-virus antibdies were used, resulting in the t+G virus. Interestingly, the subjects gained electric properties.
  • t-Veronica virus - This virus was created by Alexia Ashford by fusing the progenitor virus with an ancient virus found in some queen ants (and possibly, plant DNA too). After discovering she and her twin brother Alfred were the result of a cloning experiment, she used her father, Alexander, as the first test subject. After noticing he didn't adapt to the virus in time, she decided to test it in herself, but place herself in a 15 years cryogenic sleep. When she woke up, she extracted a new form of the virus from her body (sometimes refered to as the t-Alexia virus). She became the queen of a mutated ants' anthill. It is interestign that Alexander's blood became toxic after infection, and Alexia's became inflamable. This virus was used for further research by the 3rd Organization, which created the Jabberwock S3.
  • Prototype virus - Ozwell E. Spencer, the main co-founder of Umbrella, had the intention to select individuals born from parents with superior genetic characteristics in order to create a new World, in which he would be some kind of god. He named this project after the researcher in charge, Wesker. After growing 13 children under his control, he managed to get them injected with a prototype variant of the progenitor virus in order to scan the best of them. Onle two survived: Alex and Alber Wesker. This virus gave Albert Wesker enhanced physical strength, ability and speed, among other characteristics. This virus is also known as Wesker virus or Experimental virus.
  • Uroboros virus - After hearing Spencer's plans to become a god, Albert Wesker took those plans for himself. He decided to judge humanity in order to scan the individuals worthy of living in his new world, and destroying the unworthy. He joined Excella Gione from Tricel in 2003 and used all the resources from the 3rd Organization to develop this virus, basing it on the progenitor virus. The research took place at the old african facilities facilities from Umbrella, where they had an unlimited resource of progenitor virus. In the case of an individual being unworthy, his tissues would become long leech-like blobs, and they'd be hunting for any source of organic matter to stay alive. It's not known what would happen to a worthy individual.
  • Immortality virus - As Spencer continued to grow older and older, his plans were far from being accomplished. He started to fear death so much that he asked his best and most trusted researcher, Alex Wesker, to develop a virus that would keep him alive and healthy for a long time. He spent huge ammounts of resourcesm especially test subjects, and the research was taken in an island at the South Seas. When Alex reported positive results, everythin related to the research, including any results, samples, employees or test subjest disappeared.
  • t-Abyss virus - Being developed by the terrorist organisation "Il Veltro", this virus is usually used in aquatic systems, and most fish species would become larger, stronger and more agressive. If used in humans, their cells will absorb huge ammounts of water, their bodies will start to swell, sometimes ripping apart, and they'll roam around, trying to suck water out of other living organisms.
  • Las Plagas - An ancient parasite which was used by a spanish religious cult, "Los Illuminados", to get more followers. However, the first generation of the Salazar family banned the cult, buried the parasites and sealed them. Ramon Salazar, from the 8th generation of his family, seduced by Osmund Saddler, the leader of the "Los Illiminados", agreed to reuse the Plagas, hiring the villagers to excavate the site. People infected with the subordinate plagas would become more resistant, and would work as a group to accomplish their objectives. They'd also lose a part of their intelligence and would blindly follow their "leader". This leader is host of a dominant-type plaga. Hosts of dominant plagas can retain their intellience, and control the subordinate plaga hosts. They can also mutate according to their mindset and surrounding environment. Albert Wesker was able to collect a dead dominant plaga using Jack Krauser's body, and developed new types of Las Plagas within Tricell's facilities.

* The G-Virus is a highly-advanced strain of the Progenitor virus possessing fierce-regenerative abilities capable of essentially granting infected biological immortality.

* The Tyrant Virus, more commonly simplified as the t-Virus, is a mutagenic virus created by the Umbrella Corporation co-founder, Dr. James Marcus. While the Tyrant virus was used in numerous experiments to create Bio Organic Weapons for the black market and shady governments, it was their overall goal to develop a superhuman, named Tyrant in honor of the virus.
