Salazar Looks Scarier

I'm not really a fan of any remakes (RE1remake is the only exception) but I didn't know they made Salazar look this way... its way better then his pirate looking one. This made me wan't to get this... but Leon looks old. Is it worth it??

Such a nice re-do of this character.. really fits the game.

The entire game was given an overall darker tone.

I believe RE4RE is right up there with RE1RE as far as quality is concerned. Capcom did an excellent job remaking RE4. (I could say the same with RE2)

The main campaign and the addition of Separate Ways (that has a longer run time than RE3RE) was fantastic IMO.

I say this owning too many versions RE4OG (via platform) than I care to admit....

RE4 really is a good game.. I'm glad I gave it a chance back then despite the new 3rd person view, I really thought I wasn't going to like it because of that. Great.. RE1remake is good but some of the music used is kind of low in volume.

Ada looks great on the RE4remake as well.

All the characters in the remake are given better backstories and more significance. I'd say the biggest change is Saddler.

I don't wan't to spoil the game on youtube.. but does the RE4remake play that sound when you find important items?? like key items to progress further.. it really made RE4 awsome.

Hello.

It depends. I know that you may get the soundtrack and items sounds as a DLC

Depends?? I mean key items.. like how you need this to open that door or this to do that etc. It's one of the many things that make RE4og great for me. Well I think I will just stop worrying about the sound and just actually try the remake. Looks interesting.

The below is what can be found via a Google search:

Key Details About the Old Sounds DLC:
  • Contents: It changes the background music (OST) and sound effects (SFX) to match the 2005 version, including menu sounds, typewriter, and inventory clicking sounds.
  • Availability: The audio pack is included in the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Extra DLC Pack.
  • Usage: It can be toggled on or off in the "Extras" or "Bonuses" section of the pause menu, but it is restricted to the main story mode.
  • Platform: It is available on all platforms (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam).
The Separate Ways DLC (released later) also brought back ambient music, but the "Original Ver." pack specifically focuses on substituting the 2023 audio for the 2005 audio.

Google searches can show spoilers on the video thumbnails.. I only seen Leon, Ada, Salazar. Thanks.. but It isn't free. It's probably best to just leave it, It is a REMAKE after all.

I thought they did a good job on the remake. I’m a fan of all the remakes except the RE1 remake. I will say that RE4 does get blah after another playthrough once you get to the castle. First run was interesting all the way through for me but when I played again it just felt like from the castle on it dragged and def wasn’t as interesting to me as it was discovering it for the first time. Still, I liked it better that the OG.

Except the RE1remake... I don't think I heard that one before. I played through RE4og from beginning to end many times, even on different platforms. It's great even though it felt a little less survivor horror without the ink ribbons and having alot of healing items from the chickens and fish in the water. My PC can't run RE7 or RE4remake, I havn't bought a new system since the PS3 first came out.

I'm shure it's worth it to play those RE titles...

I am really curious as to why you did not like RE1REmake.....

Big fan of the OG, it’s my favorite of all RE games, did not like what they did with the remake. I found it to be very bland looking and boring overall. The zombies looked awful, the new areas were not great, did not care for Lisa Trevor making an appearance, it just didn’t hit it for me. It wasn’t scary. I just felt like the original was so good from the atmosphere to the way the zombies looked to the music, that remake just stripped it all away and I didn’t like it. I finished it of course and I tried years later to do another playthrough and just couldn’t, I was bored quickly.

I like both but something that stuck out to me when I played the '96 version a while ago is how much more colorful it looked—especially the final area. The remake looked drowsy in comparison.

They did a good job on the Yawn fight (Giant snake) and the Tyrant fight was nice. I agree on the less color part... the lab felt lifeless. Especially on the computer login part, the OG one looked better for that place.

I felt like it had a darker atmosphere than the original.

Yawn looked awesome.

I just think as well there was something just…different about the lightning in the OG as well. I liked that it had a lot of bright areas, it almost makes it creepier than the usual “horror darkness” if that makes any sense lol
