Eh, as a "turn-your-brain-off" popcorn/B movie, it could be merely passable, nothing more, nothing less. The first 3 movies were, I guess mildly entertaining for what they were (not to say that they were "good" by any stretch), but Afterlife and Retribution sucked ass IMHO.
Plus, I'm not feeling the use of GNR during the trailer, it doesn't fit the tone of RE at all, I say that as a fan of both. Leave that to the Terminator films... oh wait, it's been beaten and buried into the ground with this kiddified PG-13 drivel ever since Cameron left.

I have not yet been able to watch it with sound, but I can tell you there's a lot of action in the first few seconds alone. (Who would have expected that?)
Fun fact: Just like "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider", this one is called "Milla Jovovich: Resident Evil" at the end.
