Actually, RE Revelations was released before RE 6. But yeah, it's really annoying.
RE 6 seems to copy lots of other stuff from Revelations too, for example:

Simmons is almost the same as Landsale. The difference is that Simmons is more powerful and gets more involved in the game events than Landsale.
