Zombies must shuffle
So after not touching this game for about 3 years I decidided to download it on ps3 today. This is one of the few titles that I just didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to. It didn't really stick out a whole lot to me. Not great, not bad, just kind of, there. Well much to my surprise I find myself enjoying it quite a bit. And for once thank god the knife seems to be a viable option even for beginners. One slash to the legs to lay them down, then 3-4 slashes while they're down to finish the job. Easy as can be. If I were going to introduce someone new to the RE series and didn't want to start with a newer title, this would probably be the go to game. What do you guys think?

funnily enough i had this same opinion, i first played CV on the dreamcase, didn't care for it a whole bunch, didn't get very far, stopped and sold it. many years later i saw it for super cheap in game on the ps2, so thought might as well add it to my collection. got it home, started playing it, and for some reason it felt better this time. i did care for it, i did want to see it through to the end. i think first time i must have got stuck at several bits and rage quit, this time i was patient and saw it through. i really enjoyed it, and think of it was the last resident evil title to portray what resident evil does best before it transitioned to 4 and so on.

Through that door, is a seperate reality.
LOL Same here. Played it on PS2 when I was 6, didn't like it much, we had to move, I left it. Then when I was 10 I picked up again and it became my favorite in the series.

I honestly just think that this game is an acquired taste. It's not easy, it is long, there is a lot of backtracking and the story is a bit hard for younger players to understand and appreciate. Most of the Resident Evil players who say they hate Code Veronica, like you guys, played it when they were younger or when it first came out and hit a point and never finished it. I have yet to meet someone who actually took time, played it all the way through and still said it was a terrible game and actually had valid reasoning behind it.

For all the mention of Resident Evil 2, Code Veronica was a Resident Evil masterpiece of sorts and is definitely the most memorable of the series in my opinion.

Im kind of in the middle ground on RE:CVX it was a good game and to me it had some really awesome parts int he game, other times it seemed like it had these long bland overly hard back tracking parts. Now I loved the spiders in it (I played RE:DC at age 7 and have been terrified of spiders ever since) but if you shot the back of them off they sped up. It was something neat, I also hate the super spider in the Antarctic base part of the game. I feel strongly that the little RC car scanner things that alert Hunters was a great idea. Like something from a MGS game. I can not say that I just love the game and its one of the greatest, but I do agree its a masterpiece in its working, how there are things you can do to effect the game further in so you can have a slightly easier time. Took me two days straight to beat Alexia in her final form, but it was worth it. All this talk about it I may have to get the PS2 out and play it again. I think its a game that everyone needs to play and beat if there a true RE fan. It has a lot of things that if capcom would have reused and expanded on I feel the series would be better. I also liked the mini game at the end, I forget what its called but where if you were quick enough you could get bonus crap from the little casino room and the pop machine in the l shape hallway... I think that I am older and can strategize better then my younger self I would enjoy it way more. For me it also helped make the RE series story better, it made some mysterious that I feel would be great to be answered *Cough* Steve Burnside *Cough*
