Castle exterior (revisited)

Elegant Perfume Bottle, Broken Butterfly, and 5,000 PTAS: Right, it's backtracking time, folks. You might recall spotting a particularly enticing looking treasure chest hiding in a once-inaccessible room near that fountain crow-infested fountain in Chapter 3-2. Thankfully, now that we have Ashley with us once more, we'll now be able to make use of her by having her "piggyback" her way into the room and unlocking the door for us. There's some really valuable stuff in there, so make sure you don't mistakenly pass by this area and continue your quest just yet.

76-01.jpg 76-02.jpg

Automated car room

Velvet Blue: Inside the large vase that's closest to the typewriter, and only a short few steps away from the entrance.

77-01.jpg

Spinel: Carry on down the stairs to the left of the typewriter and hop into the swanky rollercoaster-like transporter with Ashley. Upon arriving at the end of the line, smash open the vases behind to reveal a Spinel and some shotgun shells.

77-02.jpg

Furnace/lava chamber

5,000 PTAS: Shortly after entering, a Ganado will appear and begin operating a massive dragon-shaped flamethrower. Whip out your preferred sniper rifle and headshot the dude before he can make his way towards you. Upon killing him, a treasure chest bearing a cool 5,000 PTAS will appear.

Illuminados Pendant: Almost exactly the same set-up as before: another chap will turn up to take control of the second dragon-shaped, fire-puking cannon. Snipe him from afar to summon a treasure chest which contains an Illuminados Pendant.

78-01.jpg

Castle entrance hall - revisited (secret room)

5,000 PTAS:: After fitting the Goat Ornament, Lion Ornament, and Serpent Ornament into the wall insignia, a secret room will be revealed. Inside, you'll have the option to either go through the yellow double doors or head up two flights of stairs on the right; go up the stairs and investigate the picture of Saddler to uncover another stash of gold.

79-01.jpg

Automated car room #2

Spinel: Upon entering the room, jump over the rail on the right and smash the vase on the podium to reveal the next Spinel.

80-01.jpg

Velvet Blue and 5,000 PTAS: After using the car to travel to the next location, head around to the opposite side of the car that you exited from and smash the large vase to reveal the Velvet Blue. When you've collected that item, go ahead and investigate the huge painting next to where the vase once stood to uncover an additional 5,000 PTAS.

80-02.jpg

Spooky hall

Yellow herb: Upon entering this particularly creepy series of corridors, take the one on the right which leads to a small dining area that is illuminated by moonlight. The yellow herb is clearly visible atop the dining table.

099.jpg

Spinel: The Spinel will is a cabinet to the left of the same room as the yellow herb.

81-01.jpg

Two Spinels, Velvet Blue and Purple Gem: After collecting the previous Spinel, double back on yourself and go down the corridor that is directly opposite the door you used to enter this area. Follow it along and you will reach a room with four shimmering items decorating four different statues on the left wall. This quadruple dollop of treasure can be acquired by simply shooting each and every one of them down, one by one. Very easy, very satisfying, and very difficult to miss.

82-01.jpg

Storage room

Spinel, Velvet Blue, Elegant Chessboard, and 900 PTAS: After escaping from Salazar's "descending spikes" room and rescuing Ashley from the mobile drilling machine in the tunnel, you'll be ushered into a storage room crammed with crates, boxes, barrels, and the Queen's Grail item. Smash open anything that looks smash open-able and search the antique cabinet in the corner, and you'll locate each of the four valuables partially hidden inside this room. It's not an especially large room, either, so tracking down any treasures outside of the screenshot's viewport shouldn't be especially difficult. As pictured, the Queen's Grail rests inside of a treasure chest right next to a padlocked exit, but the Elegant Chessboard can be found on the opposite wall (not pictured).

83-01.jpg

Creepy hallway

Velvet Blue and a random amount of PTAS: After using the King's Grail and Queen's Grail to gain access to a rather spooky looking hallway, before proceeding down said-hallway, smash open the vases either side of the entrance to discover two stacks of gold (the amounts are randomly generated with each visit) and another Velvet Blue. Continuing on down the hallway, you'll pass by two slightly distanced apart cabinets on the left, open both up to find two more gold piles.

84-01.jpg

Butterfly Lamp: Pressing on ever so slightly further down the hall, there'll be a window with which you will be able to hop through in order to reach an exterior balcony. Head up the ladder and march onwards to find a treasure chest which contains the exceedingly valuable Butterfly Lamp.

84-02.jpg

Novistador Hive

Potentially numerous Blue Eye, Green Eye, and Red Eye jewels: After wiping out the swarm of Novistadors and acquiring a healthy number of "Eye" jewels, all that'll be left is the giant hive that's suspended from the ceiling. Laying into the hive and destroying it will usually net you a very rare item, a Blue Eye.

85-01.jpg

Castle bridge

Spinel and Velvet Blue: While neither are technically situated on the castle's bridge, they aren't a million miles away from it, either. Before crossing said-bridge — and after leaving the corridor with the Merchant and typewriter — use your knife to destroy the two barrels and take a swipe at the torch on the left, also, to earn yourself a Velvet Blue and Spinel.

86-01.jpg

Gold Bangle: After you've successfully removed all planks of wood cluttering the tower's gears and left through the exit, you'll be staring at an entirely new bridge leading to an entirely new section of the castle. As you move towards the center of the bridge, a mob of Ganados will ambush you from the front and rear. Amongst the gang will be an individual wearing a ram mask and wielding a rocket launcher; kill him and he'll drop the Gold Bangle.

86-02.jpg

Grand hallway/Garradors hallway

30,000 PTAS (15,000 PTAS x2): After becoming trapped with the two Garrador monsters, work your magic and kill them both to receive a whopping 30,000 PTAS for your trouble.

87-01.jpg

Grand hallway #2

Two Spinels: Damn near impossible to miss, this pair. Before passing in between the two giant busts , simply investigate them both and you'll be awarded two shiny red Spinels.

87-02.jpg

Spike pit

Crown: Visible almost immediately from the get-go; walk forward just a touch and you'll see a shimmering item resting on a dead man's lap: the potentially extremely valuable Crown treasure. Tip: Don't sell this item right away, combine it with the Crown Jewel (acquired after defeating Verdugo at the end of Chapter 4-1) and the Royal Insignia (collected at the end of the mine section of Chapter 4-2) to have its value shoot up from 9,000 PTAS to 48,000 PTAS.

88-01.jpg

Velvet Blue: Towards the opposite side of the same pit area, lying underneath an impaled man's suspended corpse. Not far off from the Merchant and yellow herb.

88-02.jpg

Sewage tunnel

Velvet Blue: Only a ladder climbing distance from the Merchant of the pit area, the next Velvet Blue can be found inside of a pipe protruding out of the wall on the left, shortly into the tunnel. Very difficult to miss.

88-03.jpg

Spinel: Continue onwards through the likely-very-smelly tunnel, you'll pass by a red herb and a first-person — from the perspective of a monster — cutscene will trigger. Move upwards a little more and rusty gate on the left will come into view, so to will another protruding pipe. Have a look in the pipe to find your next Spinel.

88-04.jpg

Power control room (Verdugo boss fight)

Crown Jewel: Kill Verdugo, loot his corpse, and the Crown Jewel is all yours.

88-05.jpg

Underground area

Velvet Blue: Immediately after plunging into Chapter 4-2, run along until you're stood face-to-face with the Merchant. After being bested by the stony-faced trader in a "stare down" contest, go ahead and slash open the barrels to the right of him to find a Velvet Blue and a few other miscellaneous bits and pieces. Note: that "stare down" contest is not mandatory, nor is it recommended.

Chapter_4_2-01.jpg

Mineshaft

Velvet Blue: While not immediately visible, the Velvet Blue is nesting comfortably in the first, disused minecart that you'll come across.

Chapter_4_2-02.jpg

Velvet Blue: After jumping down into the Ganado-infested mining area, head straight towards the lever, but make sure to stop and check the empty minecraft that's leaning against the railway track support to find your next Velvet Blue.

Chapter_4_2-03.jpg

2,800 PTAS: After collecting the previous Velvet Blue, perform a 180 degree turn and continue onwards passed the giant spinning cog on the left and stacked crates on the right. You should see the chest of coins sitting atop another pile of crates, just before the wooden stairs.

Chapter_4_2-04.jpg

5,000 PTAS: Hidden just behind the circuit breaker fence; which is located towards the highest point of this area, at the top of a makeshift wooden flight of stairs.

Chapter_4_2-05.jpg

10,000 PTAS: After reactivating the circuit breaker, you'll be set upon once more by Dr. Salvador (aka "Chainsaw Man"). Successfully put the good doctor out of his misery and he'll drop 10,000 PTAS for you.

Chapter_4_2-06.jpg

Furnace (El Gigante twins boss fight)

30,000 PTAS (15,000 PTAS x2): You'll be rewarded 15,000 PTAS per each successful El Gigante defeated — but only if they're killed by conventional means and not dunked into the lava pit. The ideal strategy for dealing with this gruesome twosome would be to lure one of them over the trapdoors in the center of the chamber, hit the level and have one suffer a particularly slow death via the pool of lava below, while you take out the other one with a combination of flash grenades and your Broken Butterfly. Try not to stray too close to the trapdoors while the one monster is being roasted alive, though, as he'll pull you into the pit with him if you're careless. Wait until the trapdoors close before attempting to venture too close to the center of the room.

Chapter_4_2-07.jpg

Novistador cavern

Blue Eye(s), Green Eye(s), and Red Eye(s): Simply kill as many of the little critters a you can to earn yourself a random number of particularly valuable "Eye" treasures.

Chapter_4_2-08.jpg

Royal Insignia: Utterly impossible to miss. The Royal Insignia will be resting atop an altar at the very end of the cavern. In order to continue with your progress, you must pick up this item.

Chapter_4_2-09.jpg

Courtyard

Spinel: This particular Spinel can be an easy one to miss, despite being perched in plain view. As you march your way towards the ruins area you'll come across a single, lone tree sitting in your path. You'll want to shoot the bird's nest resting on one of the branches to have the Spinel drop to the floor.

Chapter_4_3-01.jpg

2,200 PTAS: The money will be sitting atop a small table just to the left of the entrance to the ruins.

Chapter_4_3-02.jpg

Velvet Blue and 1,800 PTAS: As soon as you stumble across the gathering of Ganados all circled around a fire, start veering to the right, near the ladder. Inside of a well next to the ladder is the Velvet Blue, and a little closer to the wall blocking your view from the Ganados is a pile of gold.

Chapter_4_3-03.jpg

Underground ruins

Velvet Blue: After entering the underground area, make your way around the first bend and there'll be a wooden crate sitting in a recess in the wall on the left. Inside that crate is a Velvet Blue.

Chapter_4_3-04.jpg

Velvet Blue: Push on a little bit and the lair will open itself up into something much more spacious. Follow the ramp on the right down to the end of the lane and you'll have your next Velvet Blue.

Chapter_4_3-05.jpg

Velvet Blue: After collecting the previous treasure, head back up the ramp and follow it along until you reach the bottom of the next ramp. Turn around and the next Velvet Blue will be just to the right of the ramp.

Chapter_4_3-06.jpg

Staff of Royalty: To the left of the Velvet Blue that you just picked up will be a set of stairs leading deeper into the lair. Follow them down and you'll be standing in a crypt. Open up the tomb just ahead of you to find the Staff of Royalty.

Chapter_4_3-07.jpg

20,000 PTAS (10,000 PTAS x2): Inside the dwelling area where you find the Key to the Mine, there'll be at least one "Dr. Salvador" guy waiting for you in the upstairs section, and another one on the ground floor, provided you hadn't previously alerted either of them. Kill them and they will drop the cash.

Chapter_4_3-08.jpg

Spiked-ceiling room

5,300 PTAS: After stopping that rather worrisome spiked ceiling from coming down on your head, you'll have all the time in the world to go and investigate that sarcophagus on the right; in it is three piles of gold worth 5,300 PTAS.

Chapter_4_3-09.jpg

Sand chamber

Two Spinels, and Velvet Blue: While not visible in the screenshot — primarily because it shows up so poorly when placed on top of sand — the first Spinel will be waiting for you just a few steps away from the bottom of the stairs. A Velvet Blue is hidden inside one of the wooden barrels on the opposite wall. The last treasure in this room, another Spinel, can be collected by standing under the leftmost constant trickle of sand.

Chapter_4_3-10.jpg

Minecart tunnel

20,000 PTAS (10,000 PTAS x2): After riding the minecart for a short while, a chainsaw-swinging nutcase will hop into one of the carts. Take him out with a few well-placed shotgun blasts and 10,000 PTAS will be all yours. A second Dr. Salvador will jump into a cart shortly later on.

Chapter_4_3-11.jpg

Stone of Sacrifice room

Unknown number of PTAS: We're thinking this one might be a glitch, but we're certainly not complaining. If you happen to stand yourself right smack-dab in the spot we're designating for you, then you'll be able to pick up what will initially feel like an endless flood of cash. We're not shy how or why, but standing there and hitting that "Take" option over and over again will net you some serious coin. Sadly, it won't last last forever, though.

Chapter_4_3-12.jpg

Giant Salazar statue room

Velvet Blue: After leaving the corridor that you start in and entering the enormous, multi-floored room, one of the first things you might notice — aside from the scary-huge mechanical statue of Salazar — is a ladder on the right. Smash the vase sitting on the pedestal to the left of the ladder to claim your first treasure of this chapter.

Chapter_4_4-01.jpg

Spinel: Climb the ladder to the platform above, clear the area of enemies, then jump into the giant Salazar statue's palm when it's lowered to your level. From here, ride the elevator hand to the area above and hop off when it's safe. There'll be a pair of large vases just sitting there, waiting to be smashed, to your left. Inside one of those vases is the Spinel.

Chapter_4_4-02.jpg

5,000 PTAS: Kill that red-robed geezer with the mask. He's the only one not wearing a black robe in this area, and you have to kill him to progress, anyway. Just make sure to pick up the gold he drops before carrying on.

Chapter_4_4-03.jpg

Elevator room

Yellow herb: Move straight ahead, as if you were going to enter the elevator, but keep an eye open for a makeshift passage behind the stacks of crates on the left. Follow it along and you'll be stood in front of a treasure chest bearing another yellow herb.

Chapter_4_4-04.jpg

5,500 PTAS: After reaching and killing the Ganado that was pulling the lever and causing those flaming barrels to come hurtling in your direction, a group of Ganados will storm in through the same main entrance that you came in. You'll be wanting to kill the leader: the guy with the ram mask in order to claim your next cash reward. You can either wait for him to come to you — and hurl flaming barrels at him and his mates during the wait — or you can make your way down there and take him out face-to-face. Your choice.

Chapter_4_4-05.jpg

Gold Bangle: Now, this is a very easy one to miss. After surviving the elevator journey — where a steady trickle of Ganados are as good as dropped on top of your head — to the top of the tower, you'll notice a rather inviting second elevator waiting for you a little further ahead. Don't have it take you to the top, just yet. Instead, turn around and look for a small enclosure behind some crates. Within this confined space is a treasure chest holding onto your fourth and final Gold Bangle.

Chapter_4_4-06.jpg

Royal chamber/Salazar boss battle

50,000 PTAS: While there are quite a few useful items scattered throughout the area, I'd advising waiting until after you've killed Salazar before attempting to collect them all. Also, upon his death, Salazar will leave behind a whopping 50,000 PTAS just in front of the exit. Cheers, Salazar!

Chapter_4_4-07.jpg

Storeroom

Spinel: Inside of the small crate — which is itself sitting on a large crate — on the opposite side of the room to the Merchant.
