Resident Evil 4 Remake Collectors Edition preorders being cancelled by GameStop

Have any of you had your RE4 remake collectors editions cancelled? Apparently GameStop is cancelling in-store preorders and some online preorders. I haven't had mine cancelled as of yet.

In my experience, GameStop has a bad habit of selling special editions and then not having enough/not reserving copies for customers who already paid extra. It happened to me once, got a standard edition while my mom - the game was a gift - paid extra for special edition, and I've never pre-ordered a game from them again. I always go through PSN, or Best Buy if I want a physical copy.

This doesn't surprise me. At least they're, presumably, refunding folks their money and getting this foolishness out of the way pre-release. I hope everyone who wants a special edition and got their order cancelled can find one.

Looks like they are taking GameSTOP a little too literally, har har.

But yeah, the one in my town didn't survive Covid. Not that I ever went there often or anything, I find that buying what you need online directly from the retailer, and spending a little extra for good shipping, is the way to go these days.
