Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (1999) Resident Evil 3 graphics issue with nGlide on Windows XP 32-bit – weird grid lines + red artifacts

Hey guys,

I installed the original Resident Evil 3 using nGlide on Windows XP (32-bit) and I'm getting these visible grid lines plus strange red lines all over the screen. It looks like this:

I already posted the exact same question on a german forum named gutefrage.net a few hours ago.

The only reply so far said it's definitely not normal (even if a grid might sometimes appear, the red lines are wrong) and suggested updating the graphics card driver, verifying game files (if installed via Steam or similar), trying an older driver instead, or asking in a dedicated Resident Evil forum. I already tried updating directx, but this didnt change anything, and i dont think the graphics drivers are the issue, because with other games like need for speed 2 i dont have this kind of issues, and they are also made for windows 9x.

Since I'm already here in the RE community, I wanted to ask if anyone has run into the same problem with nGlide on an XP setup and has any ideas what else I could try. Has this happened to you before? Any specific fixes or settings that worked for RE3?

Thanks in advance for any help – really appreciate it!
(Windows XP 32-bit, nGlide wrapper, original 1999 PC version)

I'm not sure that you'll get any helpful answers here. I would honestly try the RoE discord server. It's more active and I think you'll have a better chance of getting not only PC players, but people who still actively play the original games.

I remember getting that.. try different settings on the graphics or video settings on the game. You can also try changing the resolution, RE3 on PC was my favorite for a while and the one I had was the Xplosiv version. It had better audio and graphics and no glitches If I remember correctly.
