Ive seen mercs mode give out 3000 points but I dont remmember ever getting more then 2000 points on story mode.. I always do that level to get a quick few pointshahah
 
I've gotten 3,000 points. :).
Everytime Im wesker stars, I just pwn and get like 100k - 120k points on merc.
 
120k dude... hahah I was using Chris BSAA an I only got like 32k haha I was so gonna get 40k but I got killed, Have not played merc mode since >8(
I chuck away the handgun an run around like a crazy shotgun killer on some rampage hahahahah. Im not very good though I dunno how you get so many points man... you must get like one shot kills the hoel time lol
 
for some reason i don't know why but i suck at mercs. I've always been good at it in the older games, but now i'm bad at it. i'm surprised there aren't any achievements revolving around mercs...
 
5-1 is good. if you have unlimited ammo for any of the magnums, you can run through this one in about 5-7 minutes. you can pick up a jewel beetle, 4 lion hearts (from the lickers) plus $3000 in a safe inside a room for a total of about $16,000-$18,000 per run. there's also a few green herbs and a red herb to pick up. plus, you get 2000 bonus points for getting an "s" ranking on veteran. the u-8 at the end takes less than a minute if you know how to take it out. it gets kinda tedious after a while of playing the same level over and over again, but i've found this to be the most economic way of building up both money and bonus points at the same time.
 
Lol, when my 360 was down, me and my friend tackled Merc Mode. I think our highest score was like 112k. I don't know how the hell we got it, but was pretty happy with it :p
