Resident Evil 5 Problem!! Please help

Ok so I was on the last part of Ch. 6-3 fighting Wesker in the lava rocks and I decided to go back to Ch. 5-3 to get money/ammo. When I went back into Ch. 6-3 I started back on the boat. Is there anyway to get back to where I was?

In the "Play game" menu. You can choose "Chapter Select".
6-3 should be at the far right.

I do but when I do that, it takes me to the beginning of Ch. 6-3

Gutted mate. I wish I thought of going back though, I had to use my knife against Wesker!

I died inside whenever I had to get close to him haha.

so the guy who i was playing the lava part with invited me. so i was able to play at the end of 6-3, we beat the game and now it says i didnt beat ch 6. so ghey now i have to beat it again from ch 6-3. im getting too lazy
