I like the purple. I believe what's purple now was red before, and I think the top banner is new. I don't notice other changes but the purple makes a big difference.

Doesn't work, I declare shenanigan! I use a 1024x768 screen and after CTRL + R it is still 1024 wide. I still see nothing on the sides.

Try zooming out. Has worked for me on my 13 inch MacBook.
