My Zombie Short

Rain611

You can't kill me.
So I'm going through a bunch of old photos today. I happened to stumble upon some behind the scenes photos from my first zombie movie. It wasn't very long, only about 5 minutes, but it was the best time of my life. I would love to do it again in the future.

I figured I would post some pictures for you guys to see, as they really make me happy and I wanted to share them. (Sorry if the photos are large :x)

This is a photo of my crew. From the left- my zombie extra / make up artist Ebony, my camera man Sosa, the lead actress Vong, the chef I trained under / zombie extra (this was shot at Job Corps, haha), my husband's goofy tag a long / zombie extra Brian, the lead protagonist, Tom, me with bunny ears lol, and the lead antagonist/my husband JAaron.

I'm going over the script to see which shots still need to be filmed

And there you have it, a little tidbit of my behind the scenes moments. Unfortunately part of the agreement to actually be able to film this, as discussed with crew, was that I was to only use the film as part of a demo reel to get into film school, so I can't show you the end project :/.

It was originally set to be filmed in the ruins behind the old Fox River prison (the one from Prison Break, yes) but alas, just as we had finished prepping the entire shoot, it began to rain, and as much as I do love the rain, the cameras and laptops sure didn't lol. So I did a quick rewrite of the script and we ended up shooting it in an old community services building, in their attic. We were in production for 8 hours over 2 days, roughly.

But yea, this was pretty much the most fun I've ever had, even if it was just a cheesy amateur go at filmmaking. It was great working with the actors and crew, I learned what it was like to film and direct on location which was amazing, although admittedly my standards were a bit high, heh.

All in all, I ended up writing, directing, some of the filming, casting, and editing. It was such an amazing experience!

I've been tossing around a new idea for a zombie project that would theoretically be an episodic production that is ultimately feature length. It would be a massive undertaking, but one I would greatly look forward to. :) Thanks for listening to me gush, guys. I hope you like the pictures :D

Something Horrible
Wow, this is some real interesting stuff, it's a shame we can't see the short. Do you think you can give a slight rundown of what happens, though?

I'm kind've jealous, making movies has always seemed really fun to me, even though I prefer to play video games than watch movies (Most of the time).

You can't kill me.
It was about the 2 lead men trying to decide whether or not to execute our Lady because she was infected. It was a logic vs emotion type thing where one wanted to keep her alive and try to find a cure whereas the other wants her to die because he knows she will inevitably put them both in danger.

"Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?"

Oh god, I love that dichotomy but I'd hate to be faced with it.
I fancy myself a pragmatist, but I'm also not one to end anyone else.

I know, right? I'm personally very empathetic and it would be pretty much impossible for me to kill her even though logically I know it would be the right thing to do.
