So, just finished playing it... Co-op with my sister, alternating chapters with her on Ada's campaign... Until now 'cuz I go to school and I wanted it to last for a bit more...
So...
Leon's campaign:
Probably the best, some scares, a lot of actual horror, but I must say, adding to him the weight of being chased by the country for having committed a crime he didn't really do it's well, kinda cliche... That and I didn't found out about the double-gun-wielding until today... Why wasn't that on all those tips scenes on the loading pages?
Chri's campaign:
My sister really liked it (but she likes COD and Uncharted, so maybe she found it reminiscent of those)... I found it rather, simple... Unlike Chris to go looking for a revenge... And I didn't really liked Piers, at least I didn't grew fond of him like with Sheva...
Jake's campaign:
Starts good, then flops a bit, then goes up again... This one has the largest differences in chapter quality of all... That and the super healing factor of Sherry never actually helping, there, breaking the video game rule that if a character can do it in a cut scene, I should do it in game too (otherwise, you don't put it at all)
Ada's campaign:
A nice addition, but it isn't nearly as long... I liked the lots of Grapple Hook play that they added here, and the idea that all that mess happened 'cuz she turned down some rich man, well... Not as crazy as some other stuff... Too bad she never really confronted Carla... It would have been fun...
Game design:
Very good indeed, never really had the darkness issues...
The in-game menu, points down! Many!!! Can't see sh*t... Not everyone has a HD Tv... The text in Chris's PDA is so small and un-contrasted that I had to guess what I was doing half the time (imagine that on split screen)
I liked the removal of the gun upgrade thin... It always seemed unrealistic to have a machine gun with 300 rounds i it...
I did not liked the gun popping out of nowhere thing... At least in RE5 you could see one of the weapons hanging on your back...
Music:
Kinda... Disappointing... After playing Code: Veronica, RE4 and 5 I could remember entire sections of the score still echoing in my mind (like the music box, the infiltration theme, Wesker's wind of madness and many others)... But with RE6... None... I don't remember any theme right now... The mercenaries theme is not catchy at all... I hoped at least that one would stick...
