excuse my god awful time and rank..i blame my poor decision making in regards to the item drop system. in the beginning i really enjoyed the system, but in the end i found myself backtracking so much. i must've spent 30 minutes just going back to the training facility to grab the grenade launcher before facing the final boss, and i straight up lost the magnum. looked for that thing for like an hour and a half.

regardless of all that, i don't think there is any fault in the system, and i had a blast finishing this game for my first time. the item drop system as well as the partner mechanism and AI are not only very innovative but really well executed as well. i never once felt like my partner was holding me back (like i felt for the entirety of RE5); rebecca only died once on my watch and it was during the final battle because i neglected to leave her with any herbs or sprays.
overall i'd give this game a 9.5/10, only losing points to some wonkiness in the storyline (but hey, it's an RE game; and a prequel, at that!) and the training facility seeming like a hasty reworking of the spencer mansion. if you enjoyed REmake and you haven't played this game, you're really doing yourself a disservice imo.

Oh I was assuming you put it in a drop box and they stole it from you
haha no, there's no item boxes in RE0. instead, you're free to drop and pick up items wherever you please. items will show up on the map as a color coded blip, but as you can imagine you have to be on the correct floor / in the correct building to see that

Hmmmm.....mixed feelings
like i said in my original post, i think it's a cool idea, and it's almost too useful until the end when you have lots of ground to cover. i'm sure the next time i play through the game i will be more mindful of when i need what and it will work out more in my favor. maybe i'll even have the magnum on hand for the final battle!

"Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?"
i set it down somewhere to make room for other stuff and i couldn't find it later when i needed it! just like me in real life :/ lol

It's sh!t like that could have been avoided with the use of item boxes... just sayin' Zero.
Also, that screenshot you included, I could have mistaken that for my results screen during my first blind playthrough. I took roughly twelve and a half hours as well.

That's funny, that's one way Zero is unique from the rest. I know on the map you can try and locate the items, it should show it on the bottom, and theres a limited amount of items for each floor your allowed to drop.
I played 0 back in the day when it first came out and it probly took me just as long. I played it again in January, and I couldn't believe how hard it acutally was at some points. its an awesome game. Its the only old school resident evil where you can switch with 2 characters the whole game. Even though 1, 2, even 3 with carlos all have 2 main characters, zero shares the campaign. And Code: Veronica got Clair, and Chris in 1 campaign separately. For that's its cool.

Just finished the game. I never imagined that in 2016 i would be playing a new Resident Evil game with tank controls. And like the rest of you, it took me 12:30 hours to finish it. So, obviously, so much backtracking for items, which accounted for that long time. Amazingly, i've managed to kill all the bosses with single instances, which never happened in any previous Resident Evil game before, but i think this is due to the fact that before entering any suspicious door, i would backtrack the entire map to pick up only the best items... Awesome game, can not decide if i like this more than Resident Evil 1 HD. I guess i have top play on hard to find out, but my guess is that this will be second, only due to the fact that you basically play one scenario, no matter if it is Jake or Rebeca, where as Jill and Chris had different scenarios.

glad to hear you enjoyed it :) did you play the tank style games in the PS1 days, or is this a new experience for you?
