You know, I'm gonna read that again in about half an hour and have no idea what it means. Getting old...
Anyway, I've had some PM's recently about what to do if you lose your password or forget who you are and cannot log into your usual account. So for those of you who may be unsure as to what to do, here's the lowdown.
1) Your first port of call is clicking the "forgot your password?" link when you try to log in. So long as you know your email address, you should be able to use this function quite easily. An email will be sent to the address you give with instructions on how to get back into the site.
2) If for some bizarre reason this does not work, you can use the Contact Us link at the very bottom of the page - this sends a message to Steve and lets him know there's a problem. Naturally, he's a very very busy man and this is probably the longest way of getting your account back so step one is your best bet.
3) If Steve ignores you (it's nothing personal - he's got over 3,500 unread emails at last count) and the little button does not work to reset your password then - and only then - you can make a dummy account in order to get in touch with a staff member.
HOWEVER:
A dummy account is PURELY for the SOLE purpose of contacting a staff member to get your account fixed. YOU MUST NOT post, chat or otherwise use it as a new account or there is a risk of being banned. I know this seems a little extreme but there really is no reason why anyone should ever need to make such an account as, from what I can see, the first option still works just fine. You can contact one of three people who can help you out one way or another and as far as I know, none of them bite. Much.

Once your account details have been reset, you can change your password via your options section in your profile. Any dummy accounts made will be deleted once the details for your old account have been acknowledged by yourself as received - so make a note of them somewhere other than your PM box!
