Resident Evil 5 I am newbie to re 5. help!!!!

I have finished the other 4 re games and love them...i just picked up 5..can anybody tell me if I can walk with a direction button instead of using the left joy stick...if I remember right the other games you walk using the direction buttons while pushing x..I hate the left joystick or whatever you call it..I looked in settings and did not find any way to do that.They did not give me the option..And, can I set it to where I can use the right joystick instead of the left as my default...I DID FIND THE SETTINGS FOR THIS BUT NO WAY TO CHANGE HOW I WALK..HELP ME PLEASE )

what i know is that you CAN'T use the directionbuttons on the controller to control the character in the game
the direction button can used for weapons (if you placing them in the right way)
the control over chris (or sheva) can be done only with the controlstick

Its better thanthe d-pad once you get used to it
