How popular is Resident Evil these days?

Yeah.. so how popular is the series these days? Did Revelations 2 sell well? Or is the series dead to the general public after Resident Evil 6?

I feel like RE4 and 5 was when the series was at it's peak when it comes to popularity.. Is it so or is the series still really hot?

Resident Evil 5, 6, and 2 sold the best. Resident Evil Revelations 2 didn't sell very well because Capcom did not market the freaking game...... They also said it was dedicated to the hardcore fanbase. Which to be fair, it was. They also considered it to be successful.

The Resident Evil name doesn't seen to ring loud for a lot of gamers. It used to be one of the heaviest hitting names in the industry. Especially in the PS/N64/ and PS2/GCN/Xbox days. Then everyone knew of the game. Even more so than last gen, despite it selling more. There were more games back then.
