Hannibal Lecter series

Firstly, I've got to say that I'm relatively new to this series. I recall seeing Silence of the Lambs(at least I remember parts of it) when I was younger, and decided to "re-watch" it last weekend. Since then I've got myself caught up with the other films, excluding Manhunter which I'll get around to eventually.

With that aside, I'd like your opinions on the TV series. I'm pretty picky with setting aside time to watch TV shows and I'd like to know the pros/cons and how it stacks up to the "legacy" of the character Hannibal Lecter.

And just for fun here's how I stacked the movies up:
1. Silence of the Lambs - Obviously. Not a perfect film, but pretty flippin' great.
2. Red Dragon - Good story, and I'm a Edward Norton fanboy.
3. Hannibal - I think this would've been better if Jodie Foster reprised her role. Also it made me realize(imo), that Hannibal Lecter is more effective in small doses.
4. Hannibal Rising - Great cinematography. Not an entirely bad movie, at all, but pretty lackluster in comparison to the others.

I have seen all of the films and I have always been a big fan. I've also been a huge fan of Mads Mikkelsen ever since he played Le Chiffre in Casino Royale. So naturally when I found out that he was going to be playing Dr. Lecter, I was really excited. In my opinion, I absolutely love the tv show. It is beautiful, terrifying and just so damn intriguing. I think you would really like the tv show. It's ultimately up to you though. If you want to watch it, then I would get to it because the second season will air Feb. 28th
