I don't mean to turn this into a super big discussion but I was just wondering what some of you thought about the new game. I couldn't find any good websites like this one so I just brought the question over here. Personally I really like the new guy but I'm guessing it's because I haven't played any of the old games. I have seen cousins or family play but I have never actually used the old Dante. I really like the new Dante because his personality is a bit interesting and I just think it would be cool if I could meet him in real life

If you can stomach some of the more utterly annoying members, you can always head on over to one of our other sites which is dedicated to the Devil May Cry franchise.

DmC is a very hot topic right now over there and it's pretty amusing to see how worked up some people are. But if you'd rather stay here to chat about it, please do feel free. Can't promise there'll be lots of people getting as involved but it sure is a safer option ;)

I've never been into DMC but i would appreciate your feedback on how it is as a standalone title, in its own right, as i've always thought of it to be a simple button basher, but a have some friends who recommend it to me, and never enjoyed the demos much

Same here, I never knew anything about Devil May Cry except that the first part was basically "Resident Evil 4 gone wrong", but I actually considered getting the game just because the main character seemed interesting. Well, he still does, but after recently watching a large portion of a walkthrough on YouTube, I'm glad I didn't buy it. (Or rather, won't buy it; I don't think it's even out on PC yet.) The gameplay, the level design and the music are just not my style, and the plot, while overall okay for a game, has some holes too. Still, I think it's an interesting topic to discuss.

I think it's great. i played through the other games as well and this one felt better because you actually cared what happened to Dante and the others compared to the other games, where we was just "there"

I have played all the older DMC games, which were great (well DMC 2 not so much) and I really like the new one too. Ofc the old Dante was more badass though :)

Ninja Theory did a great job with the reboot imo and they are the same guys who made Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. That's one of my favourite games. They just have a great way of telling a story and the characters & voice acting are very believable in their games.

So overall I thought the gameplay was very enjoyable, felt just like the classic DMC games and the story was stronger than the older games.

I never really was interested in Devil May Cry. I've played the first one and third one, but it never really hooked me like Resident Evil and Silent Hill did.

I did find it interesting that their first idea of RE4 turned into Devil May Cry.

yeah i heard about the "resident evil 4 thing gone wrong". i bought it already but i havent played it. im eager to play this weekend. to me it seems like an interesting game. hopefully its what i expect. thanks for all the opinions so far.

DmC is a new take on DMC1. Mundus this time around is a human using debt to control the world was an interesting plot line. At the same time diving into political issues makes the story more mature. While I don't find the new design of Dante and Vergil all that great, the story, and the gameplay is what will bring you in. DmC easily has one of the best stories of the series and the last battle of the game is freaking amazing.

I was a big fan of the first DMC, but not of the rest of the series.
I have only tried the demo for the new game, and I think that it doesn't look like DMC at all. If they wanted to do something so different like this, they should have given the game a different title instead of DMC
I don't like the fact that they discarded the story of the other games, for example in this one Eva is an angel and Mundus is a human. I don't know if they changed any other stuff, but that's bad enough and I hope Capcom never allows something like this to happen to the RE series.

I need to play the demo. I've seen videos, and I kinda want the game. I will wait until the price comes down a little, though. I never played any of the older games, though I've been mildly obsessed with Trish. I know she's not in the reboot... right?

I am a big fan of the original DMC titles. I do not support this new one. I have watched a nice amount of gameplay and I watched every single cutscene. The gameplay looks okish but boring at times. As for the story and characters there are a few things here and there that I found interesting or likable, but for the most part I think it fails as a DMC game, for a game on it's own, it looks like something I would play if i had nothing else to do.

This is just my opinion, I'm not raging or flaming, just expressing my displeasure that comes from the fact that they abandoned the original series for this.

I know I know, "BUT YOU HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED IT YET!!!" I know that what some people are probably thinking. The thing is, I can determine for the most part if I'm gonna like the gameplay just by watching it for a certain period of time. That's how I select a lot of my games and my judgement based on my taste is right 95% of the time. As for the story, i've seen the whole thing, I don't need to play it for that.
