Resident Evil 6 Cross over sections

Hi all
I have been wondering for a while about cross over sections.
At some parts as you know there will be cross over points where the other characters you meet will be controlled by actual people.
Will their deaths impact your game?
Such as if there is a crossover with someone at a section where you can't reach them but they die, will the game end for just that person / team or for both?
Same with a crossover with an afk player?

Dude the cross over is like 1% (10-20 min )of the game trust me no one would die its so easy even on hard difficallty

Even still.
Not to be an a hole or anything
But I hope there is some sort of "disconnect from current joint team" option just Incase of an event like this.
I know it won't be likely to happen but I have played many games where you rely on teammates but they're messing around and you can't continue.
