Resident Evil 2 (2019) Cannot use shotgun

I'm Currently playing RE2 Remark. I have acquire the shotgun and built up an adequate amount of ammo. However, I am unable to combine or use the ammo with the shotgun. What I am I doing wrong? Help.

Reload quith the reload button, you cannot combine ammo whit weapon probably because it will be too easy while reload live you vulnerable

Combining ammo with your gun in the inventory window was only possible in the older games. In the remake you have to reload in real-time.
