After the release of RE4, Capcom released a DVD with a summary of the events of the game and a book about the villagers, their life and how they were overtaken by the Los Illuminados.
The DVD is basically a 97 minutes movie showing the events that occured during RE4 (contains parts of RE4 and Seperate Ways) in a cinematic perspective. It cuts some important parts, but gives you a good overview of the story, and can be used to help you understand it.
