Atmosphere in Resident Evil Games

As a whole, I'd say REmake and ZERO nailed the aesthetic. They're just oozing with atmosphere.

Resident Evil 4's Village and Laboratory gets a mention, too.

I totally agree. The music (especially in REmake) went with everything too, creating a really creepy atmosphere. I'd also say Dead Aim was really good with that. The save room music was kind of eerie and made it even more creepy for me (I'm terrified of boats and the ocean).
 
I would have to the say the underground labratory in RE2 has a brilliant atmosphere - even if it now looks basic. The music is great - very fitting - and the layout is one of my favourites of a facility in any game. It gives you the feeling that you're near the end but there's something big coming. In fact, I used this location as a model in art class!
 
you guys are forgetting Outbreak 1 & 2, they had wide variety of designs many based on older RE Games.
