I am just wondering if there is any easy way to beat the game in under 5 hours because I trying to get the Samurai Edge (and possibly the infinite Rocket Launcher if I can do it under 3 hours).

NOTES: I am playing the North America NTSC Player's Choice Version of the game and I already did the Grenade Launcher Glitch for Jill. The only thing that I can think of saving time is not saving Chris and forgetting the MO Disks.

don't let barry live, take his magun, and take down the tyrant in one shot.
erm, don't carry a weapon.
dodge all the enemies.
google resident evil walkthrough, and on gamefaq you can find a speed run guide you will get you both weapons.

A few questions. If I take Barry's gun he instantly dies by Lisa and will his Magnum take down Tyrant in one hit on the first stage because you said take down the tyrant in one shot. Second is ok to use the grenade launcher to take down most of the zombies because I got about 240 incendary rounds for the grenade launcher because the last time I had that many rounds I had a few left after I beated the game and I am not very good at dodging the zombies.

2 hours? You're a pro dude :D

On-Topic: Train your dodge abilities, it will help you a lot in ANY RE game, except for 5 and 4 :p

Indeed, dodging is key to get a good time in RE games. It took me awhile to get used to the feel of dodging, but after I got the hang of it, my first time of over 9 hrs decreased back down an easy 3 hrs

Once you know how to dodge, knowing your route is the next key, along with knowing what to pick up and what to leave behind. I've noticed if I pick up less items, my times decrease to up to a good 20-40 mins, but that's just me.

- push away the cutscenes. dodge zombies, run close to them, when they try to lunge you, move back and directly run beside them.
AMMO: take ammo as less as it is possible (5 hours, well this is easy.. so if you have some problems with hunters or dogs, kill them with grenade launcher) but not ALL zombies or enemies you see in every room!
- use pistol for collar dog
- Serum Room (where you get the serum for richard): put away: knife, pistol, sword key)
- run to the plant room, use chemicals, run back to richard, give him serum, get the music ntoes, run to piano, play the piano, then run to yawn get mask, run to green door get mask, run to picture room get the last mask, run to crimsonhead.
- residence:
you can't make many mistakes there.
- back to mansion:
run to the spencers graveyard get red book, run to kitchen use elevator, get the battery, run yawn 2 kill him get blue book. run to deer room get the red jewel, run to the big mirror room there is my uncle waiting for you get the jewel box. run to garden, use battery, go mining area.
... the rest is easy... and please ignore the most enemies !! in mining area: IGNORE SIMPLY ALL HUNTERS JUST RUN BESIDE THEM THEY WILL NEVER GET YOU IF YOU JUST RUN !!! And please don't shoot liza XDDD.

hope it will help you a bit. i know it's short, hasnt much info, but if you know the game a bit I think it's a good guide to get you sub 3 hours XDDDD

This person completed the game in just over 4 hours I think, so this is an exact Jill walkthrough for the game (there's 19 parts in all):

Also, here's some speed walkthroughs...

Chris http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/file/535836/30213
Jill http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/file/535836/17019
Jill (invisible mode) http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/file/535836/19316

However aintnoscrub, like I said, completed the game in about 2 hours so follow his tips :P

Thanks wolfgirl. I will look at the videos Friday and find the video that shows where I am out.

any easy way for chris? cause i want the samurai edge only for chris, i dont like rocket launcher lol

you can complete the game with jill and it will give you the samurai edge with chris.
once you've completed it, just load the clear save then choose the "once again" option, then pick chris.
thats what i did, played through as jill got the weapons, then played through as chris.

Well done!! :D What time did you get?

If I can remeber correctly it was about 3 hours and 53 minutes.

Next time I need to watch UltimateDLZ's videos more carefully and try to get a little bit over his time. but under 3 hours.

The things that made me mess up real badly was making frequent trips to storage containers, saving, getting another costume on, the Bos puzzel that gets you the Emblem Key, and my suckish ability to dodge most of the enemies.
