eeehh, i don't know about fish, but think they're kind of an exception. like, in the islam at least, fish don't need to be ritually slaughtered to be edible, for instance. because their blood don't flow as heavily as a cow's would, for instance. tbh this is a p good thing to think of, and honestly i can't think of a logical explanation as to why fish are an example, sorry ;;;

but yeah, i get where you're coming from ;; but some things cannot be answered with anything but morality. some groups just don't approve of eating x, while they don't have anything against eating y. it's their way of thinking. same goes to vegans/vegetarians. there's no logic behind their choices either, yet they just believe what they wanna believe ;;

But pigs don't go hunting other animals no more than goats and cows does, so I don't understand why they are not classified as herbivores. They can eat meat if it's given to them, but it's illegal.

Farmers don't just feed grass or hay to cattle, they also feed them a powder than I don't know the English name for. This powder used to also contain an additive made from other animals, and this additive was for adding extra proteins and speed up growth and milk production. It was never used in Norway because we have generally stricter food laws than other countries.

The animal additive to this powder was common in Europe (likely other places too), but it was banned more than 10 years ago. The additive was made of bones and possibly other animal stuff.

You've taught me something, I didn't know that omnivore is the problem. :) I just thought that someone hundreds of years ago forbid muslims from eating pigs for no reason. I'm not sure eating omnivores can be bad in any way, but at least it's a reason.

Do you think this is why humans can't eat humans? :eek: Or are there other reasons? :p

In Norway it's common to eat cattle, pig, horse, moose, reindeer, whale and a lot of things. But not animals that are common as pets.

I personally would eat anything (well, not humans lol) as long as it taste good and are safe to eat. In principal I would even eat dog and perhaps monkey. I know that many people have feelings towards species, but I don't have that. I have feelings for individual animals, not species. My feelings are more personal. But I'm not happy about eating chicken, not because of the taste but because I hate that industry.

You know why chicken meat so often have dangerous bacteria? It's because they are slaughtered before they can develop an immune system. And they are slaughtered that soon because they grow too fast. They grow so fast that their legs can almost not carry their weight and they suffer. This is just for economical reasons.

yeah that's true o: but... i think it's got to do that pigs can eat much more meat than other herbivores can. like, deer for instance would get sick if their diet consisted of 50% meat. or something. tbh i really don't know wikipedia probably knows more but i'm a little lazy to do my research now ^-^''
JaguarsSoul
JaguarsSoul
oh, i see o: i wonder what the name of that additive is?
yeah ^-^ the idea of eating ''clean/pure meat'' (from animals that are fed plant matter alone) is probably the main reason as to why eating pork isn't allowed. probably also why it is not allowed to anesthetize animals before slaughtering them (altho some companies that sell ''helal meat'' use bolt shock on their animals so that they won't feel the pain).

weeell, i think it's not allowed to eat other humans, because that'd be otherwise murder, and a crime, and inhuman, and otherwise very scary to think about ^- ^''
i wouldn't really eat monkey if i were you ;;; most of them are heavily endangered ;; but yeah, otherwise that sounds p neat :D personally i'd like to try out whale as well, but since whales are carnivores, it's out of the question for me ;;

other than that, i'm very, very picky with what i eat. for now, all that i've ever eaten was cow, chicken and fish. i'm not really appealed to eat rooster, or turkey, or donkey, or even goat or sheep. besides, the meat of sheep stinks sooo much, it's like.. uuughghgh no thanks.
omg ;; man, it's best to just buy meat from a local farm, or biological meat. ooor, you can go ahead and hunt down a pheasant for yourself <:

I wouldn't eat endangered species, but in principal I could eat anything if it tasted and looked good, and was safe. I wouldn't like to eat one of the human-like monkeys though. But I'm also picky, I'd lose my appetite if I had to prepare the food myself.

Only a few species of whale are legal for us to hunt, I don't remember the name(s). Not all whale species are predators, some feed on plant matter. So perhaps your religion allows it. It's delicious!

I don't like to prepare any food that has been alive, not even fish lol. I like to fish but I need someone to take care of the catch, I don't do it myself. So it's very very rare that I go fishing.

I've checked and the bounty for foxes is 100 Norwegian Kroner (NOK) per fox. Norway is big so I'm not sure if it's nation-wide or local. It's only for the most common (red) type of fox.

thanks for the sources ;v;
oh, i see o:

hey, that's great to hear : D i'll google now then to see which species are indeed herbivores ^-^
ahh, that's a shame ;; but yeah, preparing can be p nasty. i saw this video in which they- wait nevermind here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vUQ4wmHDdc also it's p gore-ish, so watch out ;;

whoah, that's p low, considering that it's a lot of work to kill an animal o: you'd expect it to be at least 500 NOK or something o:

ohhhh,,,,,,, my goood,,, i shall never forget that song. never ever xD
