Resident Evil 7 Re7 loading issues

So I completed this game on normal and am currently going through on madhouse.
Last weekend I saved the game just before the second bossfight and hadn't played it since and decided to continue today.

However all of my save datas will not load. They get stuck on the loading screen with the tape reel thing at the bottom, the reel gets to about 2cm? Away and stays there. The game will not give me the option to load into it.
I tried doing this on several saves and they result in the same thing.

Furthermore I decided the game wasn't going to let me load so I attempted to start again, as you're walking through the woods and see jack for the first time the game black screened into a leading screen (it does this sometimes)
Except the game stayed in the state and like before I had to close the game from dash board.

I have tried restarting the ps4, clearing system storage and deleted the game and reinstalled / downloaded.

My game is a disc copy but I have taken care of it, I keep it in its case.

As I am writing this thread the game is stuck in perpetual "loading"

I have played other games this week including kh which I also got on disc so the problem seems to be surrounding this game.

I have also tried overwriting my system save with that saved in my online storage.

Also tried deleting all content and disconnecting it from re.net (like that worked anyway) and left it on the loading screen whilst I did something for 20mins.
Came back and still no progress.

The game has officially broken for no real reason.

I Have contacted amazon to return it

Note: the issue seems to be related to downloading the dlc (banned footage dlc)
I downloaded this during the week I didn't play it.

Hm, I've been having loading issues too, but mine just takes a really long time to load and I can play if I wait long enough. I know that's not very helpful, but I'm wondering if that's related to your problem or if it takes really long for everyone else too.

before this i sometimes had long load times, so its not just you.

IMPORTANT:

The issue seems to be related to downloading the BANNED FOOTAGE DLC

I don't know what causes it, and it doesn't happen to everyone but be aware that downloading this content could corrupt your game for some reason.

Wow that really sucks. Thanks for the heads up tho Spikey. Hadn't planned on getting the dlc yet so I think I'll hold off until this issue gets sorted.

Thats bad news spikey specialy to re game. Tbh im not planing to download it now but be asure im not!! Why? I want the re im use too konami ill watch gameplay of other people not interested in a fake re :neutral:

So here's an update:

I returned the game and used the refund to buy a digital copy instead.

Upon Download and install I booted it up and attempted to load my save again.
I was blocked by a message to say the application data hadn't finished download yet (which it had)
So I started a New game to sorta rush to a save point and start an item find run of it would work.
I got passed the area where it black screened before and was able to save. I got to the beginning fight with that person and after being welcomed to the family the game cut to a screen to say the application data needs to finish installing before continuing and then booted me to the games main menu.
As soon as this happened though I got a ps4 notification to say resident evil has downloaded. Which was odd.
Not knowing what to do I tried to load my madhouse save again and it works this time.
I havnt downloaded any dlc again though just Incase.

I have messages capcom to let them know of this and am trying to see what they will do about it.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my issue resolved using the disc copy version of the game I had and it resorted to me having to replace it. This is a big no no and should be a top priority thing to look into.

Hmm that is strange alright. I mean even games that are on disc need to be installed onto the hdd before you can play them anyway. So there isn't really any big difference between digital and disc.

I know some digital games will download a portion of the game and then let you play up until a certain point while the rest is of the game is still downloading.

I had the same exact issue on Xbox one. I have had this issue before with installing games and playing. After researching the issue I learned I was having a "cloud save" issue. The only way to correct the problem is to reset the Xbox to factory settings. It does delete all of your games off the Xbox but all of your saves from all games will be recovered from the cloud. Once I did this and re installed the game it has worked fine.

If the PS4 stores saves to a cloud it could possibly have the same exact issue going on.

I have redownloaded the dlc and once again the game will not work again.
This time however it wont even load into the main menu

cant do anything tonight since i have to wait for the slow download of the game.
