Resident Evil 2 (1998) Favourite Areas?

Does anyone have a favourite areas in Resident Evil 2? The Police Station, Sewers, Factory, or the Umbrella Laboratory?

I, personally loved the sewers the best; simply because they captured the essence of the eeriness of the Spencer Mansion. It brought the spiders back. I did not like the fact that they did not include the hunters, however they included the lickers and think are an awesome addition.

The piece that I did not like though was that William Birkin was too easy of an opponent. It was leaving the factory when he jumped from atop the train car, onto the platform. He was also not a worthy challenge, especially in the end of the first scenario.

I loved Mr. , though. I thought Mr. X was a bad ass character and he brought back what I thought to be something like the Crimson Heads in the REmake. He had the idea of never knowing where he was going to show up. Case-in-point: Scenario 2: when he burst through the wall.

The Crimson Heads moved slow at first and then directly charged you.

It was so sudden for each of them.

For me, Raccoon Police Department was the most appealing in-game area to explore

On another note, I think the police station's entrance would make an interesting Capcom Fighting-game stage

Why was the Raccoon Police Department so appealing and what did it have to offer that you enjoyed?

I, personally liked it, however it was too small. The corridors were easy to maneuver in, whereas the Mansion had traps and the halls were narrow and you could not see a Zombie coming. The only surprise was Mr. X and William Birkin, jumping off of the vehicle leading down to the Umbrella Laboratory. I still agree Resident Evil 2 is still the best of the series.

I, think the notion of Capcom creating a fighting game stage would be horrible. Why risk such a legendary series for a few cheap thrills. It would only have one area and would eventually disenfranchise the whole legacy of video gaming.

For the record, I was thinking about a Fighting game including characters and stages from multiple Capcom brands

I'll give 4 reasons

1. Searching for multiple keys was crucial to gaining access to other parts of the police department

2. The music that played in the background

3. Visiting the S.T.A.R.S. office and other police offices

4. I liked puzzles such as the chess piece puzzle in the library and the police station statue puzzle on the upper floor

The 4 reasons are just like RE1:

For example:

1. The Spade Key = The Helmet Key.

2. The ambiance was the same Capcom, just switched to new music.

3. The S.T.A.R.S office was awesome (I will give you this one).

4. The chess piece puzzle was very awesome where you had to get the Bishop Plug, however the statue puzzle was very too easy. It did not require any backtracking or anything notably special (personal opinion).

..have you ever heard of street fighter? aka capcom's best seller right behind RE? capcom is very well versed in fighting games, and has been for a really long time.
and tricell's lab is a playable stage in UMvC3, it's pretty cool imo

Awsome memories! ^^

And for the question.....the answer is definitely the station part! Those creepy melodies (Hall etc.) pumping nightmares through your spinal cord.......priceless. <3 Section should've been longer. 20 hours maybe? Hell yeah! It's colossal station! ;)

In RE2 I'd have to say the police station as a whole was great, I also thoroughly enjoyed the laboratory, I didn't like the sewers too much as unless you're on the GC version Annette would talk for a decade with Ada >.<

"Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?"
Funny how in RE2, the police station pulled off the mansion aesthetic better than the actual Arklay Mansion.

My favorite area(s) in RE2 have always been the transitional vacant factory area and underground tunnels between the sewers and the lab. Its a very short section, but the music is great and I've always enjoyed that part a lot. The Police station is obviously classic and definitely the best and most diverse area in the game, though.

Police station. Finding the S.T.A.R.S office and cheif irons office and secret torture chamber was great. Also, that music. Need i say more?

Police Station, all those ester eggs and secrets, big reveals and just a well designed area. Also I like "normal" looking areas.

By far the R.C.P.D. Station. I also liked city streets and being able to see what Raccoon City was like. The little bar was also great. It really made the zombie outbreak feel more human. I wasn't so fond of the second half of the game. The sewers were okay and the laboratory had nothing on the lab in the first game. The whole magical moment of finding this massive lab underneath the mansion was gone. It was very expected in RE2. The most obvious one imho, you see it miles away. Also running in circles from a giant slug as you wait for an elevator to come down isn't exactly my idea of a thrilling boss fight. Now the Verdugo in RE4 is ****ing intense. The choice of fighting it or conserving your ammo and running is fantastic for any RE game. Having to hold out as it randomly chases you and makes some rather unpredictable movements was very thrilling.

G Virus Experiment
The initial hall of RCPD, The interrogation room where the licker breaks through the two sided mirror, the underground train, the lab where you synthesize the G-vaccine, the frozen lab, the bulldozer elevator thing where Birkin attacks, the monitor room where Mr. X is seen coming through the hall at you on camera, the final platform where you fight Mr. X. They made some beautiful locations, especially for the time period.

I love this game. Its so good I feel it don't even need a remake but I'll be just as excited. I still play the original 1st one form 96 cuz its the original and the 2002 remake is a whole other experience, so theres 2 1st games. So I'm excited for the 2nd remake, I wonder if they'll be more Hunk or Ada and Sherry Birkin segments. And is is gonna be in the style of the originals, or a 3rd person like 4, 5 n 6. Cant Wait.

Am I the only one who when I play this game, I have to play all 4 scenarios? There all surprisingly different here and there like getting the virus vaccine for sherry at the end. and the different bosses for the A n B scenarios.

The pace of this game is amazing, theres not one dull moment, even if Ive been playing for a while and I get up to the end lab, I feel a need to just beat it then rather than saving it for another time. And starting the game is always a good feel with getting all ammos n herbs for the first time, no matter how many times Ive played it, its always an enjoyable experience.

For me it was the factory. Specifically, the hanger near the train. The music, morning blue and distant city is so comfy and chilling but nerve-tingling all together. I'll forever hold that moment in my heart.

The Police station by far it gave me the same vibe the old RE1 Mansion did, Which is an almost enclosed building full of horrors lurking around the corner.

Specifically when Leon or Claire arrives at the police station in the original RE2 and the music starts as they survey the scene. Fantastic.

In REmake, I love coming to the lab section with the Neptunes and Plant 42. Super chilling.

IN RECVX, I love getting to Alfred's manor on the hill while being chased down by Bandersnatches.

IN RE4, I love the castle portion the most. Very unique designs.

IN RE7, I love the main house. Knowing that Jack could jump out anywhere was great. I loved the guest house too.
