I wish they'd bring back zombies as well, I mean how can you make an RE game without them and call it RE? It's like making a Dino Crisis game without dinosaurs. :blink: (Oh wait, Capcom did that too. :lol: )

I KNOW! Even Chris got pushed to the back burner in favor of Leon - seriously? I know a lot of Leon lovers don't like it but, in my opinion, both Leon and Ada were finished with Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil 4 was completely unrelated to what Capcom had set up in the franchise before; it was like they felt they made a mistake by putting two characters that people loved for some ungodly reason - ie; Leon and Ada - in a series that wasn't about them, so they'd give them their own unrelated game but instead of making it a spin-off series that may or may not do well, they decided to put it under the Resident Evil title where people were for sure to buy it because Resident Evil already had a reputation with gamers.

Then Resident Evil 5, where they kind of tried to go back to the root of everything, was like: "Okay, we made a mistake with the 'unrelated game', we're sorry so here take this pale imitation of the older games as a piece offering." And in the process of trying to go back to the roots of RE, they jilted on of the main characters of the series - Jill.

How's that for love, Capcom?

I remember seeing that! I love ShadowLeggy's work with this one - even though she meant it as just a parody since she likes Ada, I took it as the truth. :lol:

Now for Resident Evil 4, I heard that they amped up her moves but that she was still very much dependent on Leon for much of her survival and almost got killed by...someone. (I can't remember who exactly. :blush Which, while I like Rebecca, puts me in mind of how Rebecca depended on Billy and Chris in RE0 and RE1 respectively. Claire and Jill, on the other hand, were able to hold their own against Birkin and Nemesis because, even though the Darkside Chronicles wanted to switch it up, anyone who knows anything knows that if anyone got a partner out of Leon in Resident Evil 2 it was Ada, while Claire got stuck babysitting some kid who couldn't even carry a gun or run very fast - not to mention that fact that she had to put up with Steve in CVX. And while Jill did require some help from Carlos, most of the grunt work in Resident Evil 3 was her load to carry.

:lol: I actually just saw your rant in the Jill Vs Ada thread. I've never played RE5 and, while I've watched all the cutscenes and a bit of the gameplay, I will never know all there is to know about it or as much as I would had I actually played the game so my statements go off hearsay and what I read. I was under the impression that it wasn't a virus, it was something Wesker did to her that mixed with the leftover virus from when Nemesis infected her that made her somewhat superhuman but that the effects weren't permanent. :ermm: Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Ms. Valentine was the first character I'd ever entered the world of survival horror with and, to my knowledge, the first lady of survival horror. She's my favorite female character of the Resident Evil franchise, tied with Claire, and I just can't imagine why someone would like Ada more or think her better than Jill. Ada's not even a very good spy let alone survivalist or soldier, she's always survived with the help of someone else - unlike Claire and Jill. :blink: (I really wish they had just killed her in Resident Evil 2 so I'd never have to hear about her overrated butt ever again. inch: )

:lol: I'm glad you have an appreciation for the older stuff - it seems that many people don't anymore. In my opinion, Jill was never better than she was in Resident Evil 3. I mean the first one was amazing - it was my very first Resident Evil game way back when in 1997 - but she was really kick@$$ in the third one.

I also really like that you like Jill. So many people like Ada, who in my opinion isn't a very good spy, nor a good survivor in even the most general of senses and they completely overlook the real heroines of Resident Evil, being Jill and Claire.

Actually I haven't played Resident Evil 5 - I don't have a playstation 3. Besides, I'm a big advocate for the old games and the only reason I'm contemplating buying Resident Evil 4 is so that I can play Mercenaries as HUNK. :lol: :blush: I'd definitely co-op if I could, though. :blush:

I hope so too - it would be really strange to have a new voice actress for Claire when Alyson Court has been Claire Redfield since 1998. :lol:
