    Resident Evil: Requiem

They've never had to be savvy enough for this. You can thank journalists for this fiasco, they've turned a normal development/marketing process into PR nightmare for them. Looks like Capcom may have to hire experts who know how to handle this kind of thing in the future.

    Resident Evil: Requiem

Anyone hear about Bethesda Softworks? We are talking about Grade A American sociopathic lying and fueling false expectations about their games starting with Oblivion on 2006. Capcom may be a little uptight on some things like user content and high standards for streaming, but they've never...

4 years. The fist two flew by but the last two really slowed down.

    Resident Evil: Requiem

Whoa whoa why is BullRider02 bringing me into this argument? I work with someone who has a contract with Capcom and he never even mentioned Leon and keeps telling me he can't say anything. xD All he says is that Resident Evil team is not big enough or experienced enough for open world games...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

I'm getting Silence of the Lambs meets Parasite Eve vibes here and that is a damn good thing in my book. I CAN imagine Leon making an appearance say later in the game if Grace gets in trouble and Leon embarks on a rescue mission to save her and they both take down the final boss (who looks like...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

I played it on PS2 and thought it was amazing. The improved graphics and dense atmosphere of the game was a great leap forward. Too bad they botched the release or else it could kept the momentum of the series going from the broader perspective. ;)

And I regret repeating it. Best stick to tomatoes from now on.

    Resident Evil: Requiem

While I disagree with your implication that CV was widely received as a mainline game in when it was released (it was not, as RE3 sold much more copies than CV due to the latter being released on an alien platform), that was kind of a strange post from T. A fan of somebody is somebody who...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

Oh I agree, definitely, but that's how it was back then. And bear in mind this was at a time when the Internet and social media were in it's infancy and therefore "mass New Age enlightenment" was virtually non existent so CV, 0, and REmake sold poorly due to tactfully bad marketing decisions by...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

You have to look at from the state of affairs at that time period with the fan base. The vast majority of RE fans were Sony Playstation owners and therefore expected to receive continued content on that platform. Code Veronica being released on Sega Dreamcast was considered weird and out there...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

At the time of its release it was indeed treated/marketed as some kind of nuanced side game. It was not until RE4 was released when CV's plot became cemented into the mainline series more solidly, which weirdly made it more popular in retrospect.

    Resident Evil: Requiem

He is probably right about a hypothetical CVR being treated like a main game, but undoubtedly very wrong on the motorcycle theory. He seems to applying Ubisoft logic into a Capcom series. Ubisoft would think it's cool to jump on the open world Days Gone motorcycle bandwagon and transform their...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

Watch out for Dusk Golem guys I know the type. Even if Leon is not in the game at all and the general public does indeed throw eggs at him, he will retain a cult following and continue to cause problems within the community. People like that don't just casually throw in the towel. XD I...

    Resident Evil: Requiem

Gamescom coming up. This should hopefully clarify more details about the game and ALL the characters involved. Then we can put this to rest finally. Dusk Golem is either a fountain of infinite Resident Evil wisdom who is loosely connected to Capcom like some kind of of dirty Mafia affiliated...

Leak: Resident Evil 9 was originally an open-world multiplayer game with Leon and Jill, was rebooted in 2021

Precisely. This right here is the only cliffhanger I have mused about in recent RE history. With RE9 being revealed to have little or nothing to do with BU or the Wolfhound Squad (as the main plotline, anyway) I am certainly not gonna stress it right now and will try to accept Requiem on its...
