Most Disliked Character

I've been thinking about this for a few days & the character I like least would probably be Steve. He annoys me more than any other character.

While I don't particularly dislike Chris, I do hate the way his character & appearance has been developed over the years. He's just about unrecognizable by the time we get to RE6. I agree about the overuse of Chris too. It's a shame, I think they've ruined what started out as a perfectly good character.

To all of the people giving Sheva hate (and I don't blame you, I'm not a big fan myself), I think a big part of the reason a lot of people don't like her is because of her AI (where did she even find those incendiaries?) or the PATNA thing, but as an actual character she had a lot of potential to be a unique and interesting character. Admittedly, Capcom screwed up any potential she had by making the entire story of RE 5 about Chris, Jill, Wesker, and Excella's dress, so Sheva never got much of a chance in the limelight, making her a bland and useless character, but under different circumstances I think she could have been enjoyable.

That said, my least favorite character is Ricardo Irving for all the reasons people hated Alfred Ashford.

To be honest: I never liked Bruce and Fong Ling. They kinda felt like cheap replacements for Leon and Ada (The gear Bruce wears is even similar to Leons) they even had the same personallities at this point. Oh and the two kids from the first survivor game. Sherry was alright but those 2 are really annoying and don't give me any reason to care for them. Same goes for Parker, somehow I never really cared about him and don't like it how he talks and behaves in the game.

Since no one mentioned Ada I will just say I dislike her the most. Hated her with a passion in RE2...she wasn't so bad in RE4 and 6, but she's still my least favourite. I'm actually surprised that so many seem to like her. Maybe it's because she's always running around in skimpy dresses, but that's probably also part of the reason I can't stand her..that whole Charlie's Angels bullcrap she has going on:p

Originally, I would have said Quint and Keith but Jake Muller tops them for not only being stupid but also trying to convince everyone his stupidity is badass.

If I recall correctly, there was tidal wave of people spamming "omg, bring back Wesker for an RE5 sequel" comments on the internet. Capcom tried to appease these people by spoonfeeding the RE fanbase with Jake Muller.*sigh*

Funny you should mention that. Dead Aim came out before Resident Evil 4 - ie; before Leon's personality overhaul - so if anything, Leon is a copy of Bruce and raids Bruce's closet, not the other way around.

I dislike Ada too, I mean shes cool, but damn, shes there then shes gone, Leon should shoot her >.>. Why isn't she dead from RE2 anyway?

I never had any issues with Ashley, shes fine to me. Also dislike Quint and Keith.

Yeah, but it wasn't Wesker... just some punk ass kid. Albert or Alex would have been much greater choices to appease fans. I seriously hope RE7 starts with Jake's funeral.

Ashley was feeble and squeaky, but cute. I hated it whenever she got killed!
Irving in RE5 is pretty pathetic - what sort of accent is he supposed to have? What relevance is he to the story?
Also disliked Excella, though her boss character was good. In RE6, I find Jake extremely annoying - a total meat head.

Definite favourite is actually Alexander Ashford. Totally deranged, little boy in uniform character who has an inferiority complex. His maniac sister was almost as good as well.

Capcom's decision to include Jake Muller in RE6 for the sake of appeasing Albert Wesker fans has lead me to believe the company hasn't learned from their mistake of trying to appease Captain Commando fans with Crimson Viper in MVC3 *double facepalm*

The true last hope.
Alice, Excella Gionne and Jake Muller are three irredeemable characters I'd like to personally do in myself. I'll go into detail why later.

Steve Burnside. God, what a grating little cock. And his one cool scene in Resident Evil: CODE Veronica X where he Matrixed a monster with the Golden Lugers, he ruined by talking.

It's really hard question... Well, yes, Steve is really annoying, looks like Leo DiCaprio, annoying voice ("oh, wait wait, don't shoot!" -_- ), style and everything... Secondary- Alfred Ashford, and his voice! But those guys appeared only in one game, so they aren't my most hated guys. My choice is... <drums> Leon S. Kennedy! Too much of this guy, almost in every second game of RE. And annoying design- typical superhero-mysterious-badass :/ I hope that we will not seeing again this guy. Never :p

Guess I'm not as bothered by Leon, I haven't seen a lot of Degeneration or Damnation at all, and I took an oath not to touch Resident Evil 6, so his most "robotic" appearances I haven't been exposed to.

Maybe he was annoying in 4 to some, but at least he had personality. Nothing is more frustrating to me in fiction than having a blank slate for a protagonist that WON'T F*CKING EMOTE.

...Superhero Mysterious Badass? I don't think you know Leon very well XD. There was NO mystery to him in RE2. And by RE4, yes he was incredibly trained, but that's easily explained by his 7 years of intensive training. And he has MAJOR personality in both games. Far more personality than Chris has EVER shown to be fair...And Darkside Chronicles shows even more of what he went through during those seven years...Not liking Leon is fine, but I think you need more sound logic...Chris and Ada are both far more "Super Hero Badass" than Leon...

Degeneration he doesn't have much of a personality, that's true. But unlike in previous situations we've seen him in, Leon HAS to be very by the book, because he's LEADING a mission where people's lives besides his own are at steak. So it's not that he has no personality, it's just that he's following protocol 100%, and doesn't have time to be his normal joking self...Damnation, however, he is MUCH more the Leon we know. Damnation is a VERY good movie...hell...Better than RE5 or RE6 actually XD

I did not said that Leon does not have a personality. Just said that script-writers of RE should let him rest for some years, this guys done a really big job ;). Besides, don't you think that this guy acting different in every game/film? Rookie in RE2, fearless macho in RE4, silent professional agent in Degeneration... For me, they changed him too much. RE2- ok, he was young and scared, but I don't think that intensive training could change his personality so much (not physical skills, that's obvious).
And, I'm not agree with you about Chris. Ada, maybe, but she never played as a main heroine, so she's not bothered me. But Redfield... Well, after mansion incident, this guy swore to destroy Umbrella. After Raccoon and Rockford, where he almost lost his sister, he still keep fighting. Joined BSAA, because she had a something which one is worth of fighting for. Important is also his old rivalry with Wesker. And, in RE6, we can see him not only as a hero, but also normal man, with normal problems- heavily drinking somewhere in Eastern Europe, what could be easily explained by his past (an Edonia mission). So I think that Redfield is far more natural than Leon :)
