I'm currently listening to Me I'm Not - Nine Inch Nails. I've been back in a really heavy NIN mood lately. Been listening to them Nonstop for like 3 months now haha.

I havent listened to NIN in a while, but I think I should start. After witnessing Trent Reznor become a 2 time Oscar Winner and realizing he is only a Toni away from being an EGOT, I think it would be fun to see his journey from NIN frontman to Oscar Winner in a tux. haha

I don't know, there's just something about NIN. Some bands just have that 'it' that just can't quite be described but it moves you in all the right ways.

I can say all the cliche things like, Oh, his voice or whatever, which wouldn't be lying but Trent doesn't exactly have that silky smooth lead vocal voice that would be attributed to the average hot band lead vocal dude. Same can be said for Marilyn Manson. He does NOT have the conventional singer smoothness either but they both make it work.

And as another note on Marilyn Manson, he's got more dedication to music than most other musicians I have done any kind of research into. He consistently releases a new album every 2 - 3 years, every time I turn around I feel like he's released a new cover or a new single and it's just one of those situations where you can just TELL this guy eats, sleeps and breathes music. He's one of few artists that I will immediately buy a new CD (yes, I still do that) without giving it a previous listen because I have no doubt that what is being released will be quality.

For curiosity sake, the list of musicians I will buy without hesitation include:

NIN
Marilyn Manson
Rammstein
Low Roar
Queen (which obviously they aren't going to release anymore albums but Queen is God tier, come at me)

A long time ago Eminem would've been on this list but I've kind of lost track of his work over the past decade or so. I still have mad respect for him but his music has definitely changed over the years. I might have to look up some of his newer stuff now that I think about it.

But I'm getting off topic now, haha.

Led Zeppelin were the first band I ever bought their whole catalogue in a box set for, but lately I've got this weird itch to listen to them all over again as they sounded on my parents' old CDs, from the dawn of the format.

When I first got in to Zeppelin in high school (circa 2002), I felt like such a phony because they were always my Dads favorite band. But after nearly 2 decades of listening, I have to say, they will probably always be in my top 5 bands. You can listen to their music any time and in almost any occasion. I just listened to Physical Graffiti through the other day and forgot about how many songs I actually love on that album. Ten Years Gone is such a great tune that keeps on coming back to me year after year.

But after nearly 2 decades of listening, I have to say, they will probably always be in my top 5 bands. You can listen to their music any time and in almost any occasion. I just listened to Physical Graffiti through the other day and forgot about how many songs I actually love on that album. Ten Years Gone is such a great tune that keeps on coming back to me year after year.

I have similar feelings when I listen to like, Limp Bizkit or Creed, because it reminds me of my cringiest years. haha. But Classic Rock has stayed a consistent force in my life, so I cannot really separate it from a time in my life. Even at 34, there are so many songs and artists I have yet to discover and it feels great!

I always get into arguments because I like most of their albums better than II, something about the production on that album has a "crunchy" quality that I find fatiguing. But strangely, the huge bloated bass of LZ1 doesn't bother me at all.
