Why is the locker door open then? Of course it's going to look similar it's the remake. Plus if you look above the control panel it's different. There's probably more differences that prove it's not from the original. Your wrong.

Uhh...because the door can be opened, which means it contains further modeling detail on the inside so in the 3D model it is shown open. And the control panel is the exact same it looks different because the RE2 image is SD crushed into widescreen.

It is Exact, not similar.

Fool. The doors don't open in the original. They always stay closed. Have you even played the original games?
You have no Idea how they make these games. They're pre-rendered backgrounds ( a snapshot of a 3d model) the game is basically a mix of 3d models and 2d bgs which give the illusion that its a 3d world. The illusion is very convincing obviously. The LOCKER IS OPEN in the leaked picture. The LOCKER is not open in the original, only a picture is shown of it opened (then a closing noise can be heard) resulting in the locker being closed. THE ITEMS ON THE SHELF are not exact. COMPARE THE ITEMS ON THE SHELF. The LIGHTS ON THE WALL of the entry door are not in the original. The control panel wall is actually completely different if you LOOK AT IT which wouldnt be caused from it being "Crushed into widescreen" (?). I could go on. And again its going to be similar because they are remaking the game. REMAKING. so it will be almost exact. I shouldn't have to hold your hand and point out the differences.

Lol, it's exact, and you're being silly. The image must be from RE3, where you see inside the locker to get a weapon.

But why would it be open at a different angle?

The angle doesn't matter, it's a mesh, so it will show as open because there's detail inside. Looks like Capcom even modeled the outside corridor as well even though we never see it from the STARS office.

Anyway, it's clearly from the earlier games because it matches exactly, like EXACTLY. That ChrisR guy is wrong, plain and simple.

Ah, I see. I don't know much about that stuff.

Wait a sec, look at those electric boxes above the communication station. They're different. And those long lights on the roof are in different places. And the image is much, MUCH more hi-res, than what they had back in the late 90's.

Again, the in-game version is standard definition, the render is high definition (yes, they did have high definition then, just no game machine to render it on).

That's what's causing any differences you think you're seeing.

Light by the phone is new....

This could be from the fan-made RE2make that got canceled.
