To be honest it wouldn't be such a big deal to me anymore. I still like Resident Evil but the times where I was obsessed with this franchise and would probably throw tables around if it ended, are way over. It was the same when Silent Hill ended I was thinking "man that's bad, it was one of my favorite franchises" but it didn't really effect me. I would probably look for other cool games to play. You know, new fresh of air and all that... Sometimes a story is simply narrated to death and I would rather see RE end on good terms. Of course I would still play the old games from times to times but otherwise I wouldn't do anything...

This, this, this.

To me, Resident Evil was the PlayStation era. And maybe a little of the PS2/GameCube era, too. I've had some great fun with some of the newer titles -- Resi 5 and Lost in Nightmares remain among some of the best co-op experiences for me ever -- but I don't find myself waiting with bated breath for new titles to roll out. RE7 looks... interesting. I might even pick it up when it's on sale.

If the Resident Evil franchise went kaput, I'd just return to the games that to me encompasses the original RE flavour, or maybe I'd just carry on doing what I'm doing now and enjoy my ever-faithful reserve of retro games and library of Steam tasties.

That's why must of the video games i play are in one story...And Chris/Leon...and all characters dies so as therestories. So for my new game they are all dead but i still feel them inside it... :)

It will be the saddest day ever...........lol.

Cant wait till 7. oh boy. This was the coolest 20th anniversary year of a video game for me.

7 looks like a blend of all the Resident Evils rolled into 1.

Because I love Resident Evil so much, people were trying to get me into other zombie like games or movies. I said im not necessarily a zombie fan, Im a Resident Evil fan, I like Chris Redfield and Albert Wesker, and the continuation of the story line and all. I like playing the games over and over, from 1 to Revelations 2 and everything in between.

UMBRELLA LIVES ON!!! or TRICELL, or Spencer, or Wesker, or the BSAA.

Oh no! First of all I'd be very sad, considering I grew up with RE series and playing it makes me nostalgic. We ALL know IT WILL end at some point, everything has to come to an end. I have no idea what I'll do, like seriously? What am I going to do without RE series.... :/ :(

Honestly, it kind of already has ended for me, at least for the time being. Everything about RE7 points to it being a game I have zero interest in playing - a first for the numbered entries, I might add. I wish that weren't the case, of course, but it is. Each new thing I see turns me off more than the last. So, I'm done with Capcom in general until they show me something that gives me more than pause.

How can you say that when they've shown the ESSENTIALS: combat, puzzles, and actual monsters in the latest teasers? I totally hear you, I had a lot of those same doubts at first (though I remained cautiously optimistic), but it's beginning to look more and more like an actual RE game with each new teaser they put out (and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way from reading posts on here, Capcom-Unity, Reddit, etc.), just with a change in perspective.

Lurking is my jam.
Well. I'd replay the games that made me love RE. After that perhaps just play similar things or try out a few new series. Or even some games I wanted to play long ago but never could. Nothing too bad. It'll be a shame as RE is one of the series that while they copped out like twice, at least it still kept a fragment of what made it RE. Unlike quite a few other games in franchise's I no longer have an interest in.

You seem to be confusing me with a lot of the other detractors. I never had any real worries about combat, puzzles, or any of that other stuff. I've kept up with development, watched all the teasers and all that, and it still feels less and less like an RE game I want, no matter what nods Capcom throw in.

Yes, the perspective change is a gigantic turn off, but it isn't the only thing. At the end of the day, I just don't like any of what I've seen, and I only like it less and less as we get closer to release. I'm not going to defend my position, nor am I going to begrudge anyone else their excitement. I sincerely hope other longtime fans are happy with the game. I'm just not going to be one of them.

20 years is a long time to be into anything as hardcore as I have been RE. Maybe it's just time for me to move on.

You're most certainly entitled to your opinion @Daburcor and there is still a part of me that couldn't agree more. The first person perspective and lack of past characters continues to keep me from getting overly excited for RE7 (it's pretty ridiculous that I am even saying there are all brand new characters at this point in the series). I'm more excited to hear about Vendetta, REmake 2, and the next title that will feature past characters, than RE7 itself.

That being said, the latest footage of RE7 is very intriguing to me and, as apposed to a few months ago, I can honestly say I am looking more forward to giving this game a chance. Perhaps the newer characters will serve greater purpose than to simply reboot the entire series. There is definitely a general divide in what fans want from this series (which is why I want Capcom to get creative and do what they want rather than try to please everyone), but maybe these changes will help them refocus where the series needs to go. With this thought in mind, I am beginning to welcome the changes- even the ones that I'm not so sure about.

On the topic of when RE ends: I think it will be a bittersweet day- one that will, hopefully, give this series and its characters proper closure. I practically welcome this series' end.

I'm with Daburcor here, it kind of already ended for me the day I saw the first RE7 trailer, and every little bit of news that followed hasn't done anything to convince me otherwise. But it's not the end of the world. I have the old REs that I love and will continue to play, no one can take them from me, and who knows, there might also be new Revelations entries that don't feel like completely different games; I'll gladly take them. And if all else fails, there's still more to life than videogames.

I'd be pretty upset to be honest.. I've been really into the series since the original Resident Evil came out in the Saturn/PlayStation days.. so when and if the franchise ends and stops.. so will a part of me as cheese ball as that sounds!

If RE ends, I wouldn't care that much. I would just replay my favorites (Remake, CVX, 4) over and over until I'm tired of them and find another game that 's similar to RE.
