I've been looking retrospectively at what it was about these games, in particular the lore and atmosphere, that I found so gripping. And the closer I looked, the more I realized no two Resident Evils really even have so much as the same tone. The original game was like a cheesy Sci-Fi Channel...

That's probably been retconned if not plain forgotten, but if so, I can't actually think of any female characters who fit the bill...except Sherry. Oh no. "There's something about this little girl..."-Wesker

I'm not sure if this has been brought up already, but is it possible Annette was Jake's mother? Maybe she and Wesker had a thing for a second before she married William?
